Interesting, for sure.
The more complete one looks to have had a run in the Khumo series at some point, judging by the windscreen banner. Maybe previous Khumo series news articles outlining chassis history might shed some light. I didn't know Paris Acott was building GRM's cars. |

Probably had an upgrade by Paris at some stage. I don't imagine the guy who wrote the ad has a clue.

Further research shows that he did infact face charges of fraud.

The ad says there was no book with the car. I kept an eye on this lot, but not knowing enough about V8 taxi stuff, I stayed out of it, well that and the fact I have no money as well.

DJR EL
I am the new owner of one of the DJR EL's.
The chassis number is DJREF7L. This car was first raced by Johnson and Bowe at Sandown 500 in 1996 and later came second at Bathurst behind the HRT Lowndes Commodore. The car updated to EL for 1997 for Bowe to drive in 1997. The car was raced at Sandown and Bathurst by Johnson and Bowe later that year and then became Bowes car for the entire 1998 season. It was also used by the Rat to win the Gold Coast indy event in 1999. I am looking for any photo's of the car during it's time at DJR. Pics of the engine bay and inside the boot if possible. Also if anyone has any parts available that would belong to this car please let me know as I would be interested in buying them. Troy Stapleton.0438928930. |
