Mark Petch should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

I have heard that there isn't any... Other than the NZV8 guys who have switched to supertourers who are going to run their old NZV8s in a supertourers "development" series.
There's a few other rumours floating about too. Such as maybe the number of 16 cars being inflated etc. And the cost of the cars being rather high. I've been told that the 200k only gets you the bare chassis.

Imo the last think NZ motorsport needs is another spec class.
Sure I reckon if it comes together they will be a cool class to watch. But to the general punter they will become like Tier 1. Boring spec classes.
Revhead,
Not rumour, just the fact's, the cost of a complete car in kit form is $186,500 plus GST [the car kits includes everything including rivets to assemble it]

All 16 complete cars kits have been sold to to their respective teams [V8ST does not own any of the car kits] six FG Ford Falcon bodied chassis have been delivered to their owners. Two VE2 Holden Commodores have been completed and are awaiting shipment to New Zealand.

You believe what you like, but these are the facts, not rumours.

so is that price not over $200k +plus assembly?? how many man hours to create a turn-key package??

6 FG's +2 VE2's = 8, so that's half the 16 qouted as being sold.

these are also facts, as qouted by your good self.

Mr Revhead has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Sorry, I'm just confused.
Is the engine cost included in that 186k? Coz I've seen that mentioned as costing 20k

The original sale price was NZ$185,000 plus gst.

Subsequently the owners voted to have air-jack provisions added to the chassis, at a cost of $1,500, hence the final price of NZ$186,500 plus GST so essentially there has been no change to the original sale price as per the owners S&P agreements

All 16 complete cars kits have been sold to to their respective teams [V8ST does not own any of the car kits]

So far, six FG Ford Falcon bodied chassis have been delivered to their owners, plus Two VE2 Holden Commodores have also been completed and are awaiting shipment to New Zealand.

The remaining 8 car kits are on schedule to be delivered by the end of this year.

You believe what you like, but these are the facts, not rumours.

You could have just said "yes"
If you hear a rumour how do you clear it up? By asking.
No need to be so defensive! Or is there?

Well I asked a specific question and got no specific answer.
In fact my first post in this thread was met by a bit of a rude reaction

Gotta love this forum.... sometimes i wonder if people just try their best to drive other members away from the forum so they can sit behind their keyboards and give each other virtual high fives on how awesome they are....

Or the production class
http://www.motorsport.org.nz/production-racing-2/

Don't forget NZV8 will be going 'non-production' anyway.

That production class no longer exists,
now it's production GT and Sports GT.

I'm not too sure you're right about that. I believe those PRS classes will still exist but they will run with others in Production GT and the Sports GT will have all-comers.

A small bit of research shows you are correct.
Hope the PRS guys are ready to get there butt's kicked then,
a search of lap times show the top PRS qualifier would be almost 10th on the grid at Timaru
with the addition of the South Island Class than is also running within Production GT.

New aero kit being tested

Interesting the centre section isnt flat... presumably the air is directed differently to the V8Supercar test mule used previously...

Sure, but it would still have to work technically. It cant be like the first VP aerokit TWR designed that worked better when it wasnt attached to the car
