Yeah, saw that in Autosport a few weeks ago. What were they thinking with that chicane on the left?!?!
Rest is quite good though IMO.

well, i was thinking the chicane in general was awful, but yeah. That's not gonna improve overtaking or safety with that kind of braking zone...

shiny side up! should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Chaynes, I think you would have to be on the brakes in T3 for T4 in a heavy formula, so you accomplished that goal. Your track has a good overtaking spot, and potentially a couple more as well...

Was this track in Autosport? Where is it situated then?

I'm thinking that'll be a revamp of Valencia (I think..could be Jarama, I'm not entirely familiar with Spanish circuits)

You're right, it IS Valencia. The proposal in itself is not bad, but the current Valencia circuit is much more balanced than the new one.

And the chicane after the first corner is hideous.

What about this for an alternative? It makes use of (unused?) parts of tarmac that is already there.

Thanks. I saw a couple of spots I could improve, but I'm quite happy with this quick sketch.

Actually, I'm fine with how it is now, there's no need to go change it..I'd be fine with a minor corner alteration, but I don't like these TR-esque hackjobs..

Funny thing is, by the way, that most of the tarmac on my proposal is already there. I just used in a different way/direction.

How about this for a quote guys?

Quote:
The practicing had just begun. Away beyond the woods we heard the approaching scream of a well-tuned E.R.A. and down the winding slope towards us came Raymond Mays. He changed down, braked, skirted round the Hairpin and was gone.

"There's the winner," remarked one of my friends. "Knows this course backwards."

Half a minute later came the deeper note of a 2.9-litre Maserati, and "B. Bira" (Prince Birabongse of Siam, Mays’ nearest rival and a new star in the racing firmament) shot past us, cornering with that precision which marked him as the master he was.

"Or him," said another.

We waited again. Then they came.

Far away in the distance we heard an angry, deep-throated roaring - as someone once remarked, like hungry lions impatient for the arena. A few moments later, Manfred von Brauchitsch, red helmeted, brought a great, silver projectile snaking down the hill, and close behind, his teammate Rudolf Caracciola, then at the height of his great career. The two cars took the hairpin, von Brauchitsch almost sideways, and rocketed away out of sight with long plumes of rubber smoke trailing from their huge rear tyres, in a deafening crash of sound.

The startled Pressmen gazed at each other, awe-struck.

"Strewth," gasped one of them, "so that's what they're like!"

And that was what they were like.
Really eery.

ANYway, back to topic, yeah, i prefer that Lustig.

Here is a challenge site...

Rules:
-Stay above the red line
-Course will be temporary... only used for 2 big events per year
-You can use any existing roads you like
-Cannot destroy lakes
-The lower left and upper right areas of the map are about 20m higher than the water level (gives you an idea of the topography)

Have at it...

Here's mine..Goes anti-clockwise and uses only roads except a few spots. Pit lane is on the inside.
