IMHO, both Porsche and Toyota are still "working" on aero bits..and they probably were validating some "audi 2016" stuff to see if it works.
Even Audi are doing that... validating aero "things"

It won´t be the first time that someone in sportscar racing presents a weird innovation just to make the other teams go mad, the 16 cylinder 917 for example.

Thus far, I believe updated 2016 components are under the skin of the 2015 body. That is, what us public are privy to see. Very curious to see this year's iteration.

Looks ggreat but if every car was in carbon then people would moan that all the cars look the same and the livery designers aren't being imaginative enough

Looks like there was a small off on Tuesday and a new tub was flown in. Car was ready for testing on Thursday.

Not a great mileage for 3 days.....

Audi has been track testing with their new aero(at least with the initial basic iteration of it) since november, while Toyota and Porsche seems to have only used their 2015 cars' aero so far. This might put Porsche on a back foot with a more developed rival, afterall, it's only 7 weeks until the Prologue.

At this point, I find it hard to picture Porsche showing up at Silverstone with a great HD car.

I'm not concerned. The car is a "evolution" not a brand new car, so I think they know the weak points by now. Also- they were testing new parts in 2015, so I suspect there program is on schedule.
Finally, it is important to remember that they had an off and the car had to be rebuilt, so I'm sure they spent quite a bit of time on setup.

OT: Racer.com displays all the autosport news articles for free, saves you from having to get the autosport+ membership and the limit of 10 articles per month. Granted, racer doesn't provide the analysis/feature articles, but it's funny nonetheless that they copy the articles from autosport and display them for free.
