Brilliant photos there, thanks for sharing them with us.
Considering how expensive they were, it was always amazing that pukka Group A machinery used to appear in period on hillclimbs across the continent. |

Attached some pictures of the ex Bastos 635 discussed earlier. I took these in Holland about 12 years ago i think.
I also found the info sent by Francis Dosieres about his 635 around the same time. In it he mentions that Thierry Boutsen drove the car at Spa in 1983. And was also driven bu Jaques Laffite. Alex |

Alex,I think that the Dosieres hillclimb car was indeed that driven at Spa 1983by Boutsen along with Sabine/Ballot-Lena backed by Texaco and entered by SJA Auto,it was chassis RA1-004. I have no record of Lafitte ever having driven a race 635 however.Dosieres also hired the red Bavaria Automobiles car for a hillclimb in '84,perhaps as a taster before buying his own car?

Not strictly speaking on topic but quite a few of the cars covered recently in this thead are visible in this clip I stumbled across on the web yesterday:

Also get to see a nice cut away wheel arch on the Brun Jagermeister car in the pits after it's presumably come to blows with someone else whilst Grohs was at the wheel. |
