Why do you think I posted that?!!!

Forget the age of the cars. Big grids, competitive (fierce at times!) racing & drivers who really show their appreciation of marshals - what more do you want?

This may be a silly question but...

On the card it asks for the size of "unit" if you are camping. What do I say? Is that the physical size of my tent? Or the size of the pitch I require? Do I include space needed for guy ropes? Do we get somewhere to park adjacent to the "unit" or do we park miles away?

It doesn't matter what you put PJ - you still get the same sized pitch as everybody else!

In theory you park on the same pitch as you camp. I'm not sure why they still ask this as the pitches are all the same!! What often happens is that they'll be people who've requested pitches that aren't using them and you can then park on those pitches. Mainly the campsite is allocated by each discipline so you're likely to know some of the folks around you.

Thanks, I'll just invent a number then.

I'm really tempted to say I want one 3.14159 m square...

Closest thing I could find to a "tent" smilie

Its so they know if you have a 40 foot winnebago!! Just put the size of the tent you have, but as they say, the pitches are the same size anyway!

Also for the recovery guys and girls that have the trucks and things!

Wicked humour - you're not using a pitch are you Mark?

Also they stick the pitch numbers next to each other in pairs, last year between our motly crew we had pitches 1&2 3&4 5&6 on one row, but the pitch marks looked like 12 34 56 some poor lad who had pitch 34 thought he had scored a winner till we had to ask him to move his already pitched tent. Felt a bit mean but christ we were close to the beer tent........
