So he's going to race in a SP car? Doesn't it have to be a S2000?

Looks like they've dropped the no WTCC driver rule from the ETC Cup site then.

That makes Thompson almost a certainty as well.

Flexible rules. Look Porteiro, he didn´t race a touring car championship and will drive for Ravaglia.

The rules also state that drivers from countries that have no championship are allowed to participate, and does Spain have any S2000 championship?

As for Zanardi, if he only did one more race in the Italian championship he would be allowed to race according to the rules that say 50%.

Isn't he a full time Italian Superturismo driver?

Yeah but there was a rule there that said if you were a WTCC driver you couldn't. That's disappeared now.

Yes, in my opinion a rule that isn´t suitable for a European final with the best touring car drivers from the national championships.

Yeah, it wasn't there then. I'd have thought the rule was there to stop Zanardi & Thompson from appearing and putting off the national entrants from competing.

But since so many teams have had fleeting appearances in the WTCC, such as Maurer for Procar and most of the Italian teams, that rule would be difficult to manage.

I'd expect Seat to turn up ready to conquer though with Plato, Thompson & Colciago as a maybe.

Giovanardi would easily be the top signing for anyone aiming for the win too of course...JAS or Alfa you'd expect.

So Sharp has find some budget to race this event.

Isn't there a requirement to have competed in a national championship? Unless that's chamged or I've missed something neither of those two qualify.

If you said both were with GR Asia for Macau WTCC I might have beleived that more.
