I have no intention of getting into an argument about it, or making my source public. I PM'ed mountainstar because I felt I could trust him to be discreet about it.
I'm sorry, but I have no such warmth or fuzziness in your direction. So, any news about Stoddart yet? |

D.R.T. - you took my quote a bit out of context! I did not say we could not discuss without more details, simply that the nationality of the drivers was not quite the thing as we don't know yet what the ownership structure is.
As far as the "speculation" post you quoted - obviously I have been around the joint for a while and understand that this is a discussion forum. I was simply referring to posts that implied that all was set in concrete. There have been a few that make it sound like it is a done deal. It seems to be moving forward but we really don't know what the final form will be. so we cannot speak in certainties just yet. |

There WERE no firm announcements at Mexico City. To add to the rumor mill, speculation now has it that the Gelles deal has gone cold.

Robin Miller threw a few more rumours in there backing up what Indycool said about Gelles, PCM are still sweet, Stoddart and CTE are a done deal, Tags looking at Rocketsports (surely not after what happened after 04) and something about Briscoe at TA but we have been over that one.
Good times, good times. How will the cards fall. |

Jan Heylen is almost certain, and the other driver will probably be Dutch, both Jos Verstappen and Niki Pastorelli were mentioned as possible candidates. Both said they hadn't been contacted when asked for a reaction. |

According to Speed everyone is chasing Briscoe. From Stoddart to Walker to Newman Haas.

I hope team Australia doesn't get Ryan. They are the reason why he did not race this year !!
They don't deserve him. Hope he gets to Newman Haas. He will show Bourdais a couple of things. |

If Jos Vertstappen gets a decent drive in CC then it would make excellent business sense with a known name in the series and a sellout in at least 1 of the 2 European dates to be announced.

i'm not usually into champ cars, but i have heard that the Team Australia alantics winner was getting the second seat with his 2 mill winnings, and tag was being "moved on".
forgive me if this has already been covered somewhere else. |

I cant understand how Newman Haas tie into the Briscoe thing, NHR are chasing Rahal and have Bourdais tied up. I guess if they ran 3 cars but you highly doubt them running 3 on 07.

as for how much media attention would he secure for the series, well not much more than he did to A1GP where even Yoong beaten him despite skipping two races. I doubt if Zolder would be a sell-out coutresy of him. |

I did. Perhaps I was too sarcastic and I apologize for that. But, IMO, Verstappen's presence as a driver would mean virtually nothing at the gate of U.S. races.
