Okay, he is on the entrylist now. But will he also be on the starting list eventually? Would be a surprise, at least for me…

Good to see Ollie there. Am guessing the 306 lost its homologation plus 4 years status some time ago! Whose Saab is it? I remember a superprix where a spare Saab was sourced, believe it was Eklund's?

Be good to see Chris Langley there, I wish him a lot of luck as that is something he always seems to be missing.

I believe the 306 also has a flat floor that means it's not a Div1 spec car.

Apart from the technical state of the O’Donovan car the Pug 306 is running out of its "plus 4 years" eligibility by 31.12.2010.

Thanks for the info - shame it can't compete as it would have been a contender for the finals. Hopefully Ollie can make the Saab competitive

I thought the car was ex-Gollop, which he used in the ERC? Has it been modified or have the rules changed? Or am I getting confused with Gollop's old 309?

On the topic of Gollop, I see the rumours of a return havent yet materialised - damn shame!

Good to see the entry list growing! Too bad there are not showing up more Dutch, Belgian and French... According to info Autosportforum.be Mechelen, Coox and Snoeck seem to prefer the National Championship a week later...

Also too bad the Gollop or Jordan is not taking the opportunity to bring out the Focus once more (where is that car anyway?)...

Yes the 306 really is that old car that Holfeld and Will used all those years ago

I dount at all that Will be driving, he was reluctant to drive the last time he did and was genuinely pleased to let Jordan drive the car, he saw his role as being away from driving a long time ago I think.

Gollops old 309 does exist, but think it is being converted for some other use, not sure of engines etc.

Yep, same car and it was used in Europe - but the regs have changed since then meaning it's no longer euro legal.

As far as I recall it was being rebuilt for circuit use - possibly using a Honda S2000 engine and gearbox to drive the rear wheels.

Seen Mad Mark is entered for the Open Champ round at Nutts Corner on 25th April, shame he can't get the part he needs for the ERC at Lydden. After all these years, personally, I would be completely gutted if I was a driver and could not enter because of a spare part. Makes you wonder though with the entry confirmed for Nutts Corner whether he wanted to compete anyway...

Also what about Tommy Graham (Ford Fiesta) or Mike Manning (Ford Puma) and didn't Kevin Procter have a Puma? Also Terry Briggs (Clio)?

Also what about British supermodified drivers, Mike Turpin (Vauxhall VX220), Ben Power or whoever he sold the car to (Ford Ka), the various Lotus cars (Bellerby?) James Bird (Clio) Dave Binks (BMW Mini), Mike Howlin (Fiesta)?

Most of those cars you mentioned are not ERC legal, two have entered, Proctor(Focus), Binks(Lancer), other reasons for no being able to enter is the need to have an International licence, would have thought Tommy Graham and Eddie Kinirons would have entered mind you, suppose theres still time.

A comment from Tim W. underneath ERC24 news 1161:

Missing?
Bell has no plans to race at all this year.
"Mad Mark" Watson broke a gearbox shaft in his Xsara at Croft recently and will not have replacement parts in time for Lydden.
Tommy Graham has decided not to race in the event.
Steve Mundy was planning to race, but cannot get the necessary medical certificates in time (over 40-year-olds must have stress-related ECG tests to get an International licence).

With the winter development of the top drivers i've been hearing I think anyone who hasnt made significant progress on last year will be more than on the back foot.

When did you last watch Rallycross? Binks has been using a Lancer since 2007!

Turipn, Powers KA, Bird, Bellerby and Howlin Cars dont fit into any class.

I did use the event programmes from the last few Lydden BRC rounds to assist with that post... hence being a bit out of date!
