Wish that the official race has on-board cameras for both classes.
Sure that there's concern that the team's secrets will be revealed, but it would be nice to show what's inside of either a GT500 or GT300 car. |

The onboards exist, they're just broadcast separately.

Also, the actual GT-R isn't anywhere near that sleek on top! So if Nissan had dispensation to use a less boxy design for their GT500, why didn't Toyota do the same for the RC-F (or did they, but they simply did a worse job?) |

Early prediction: Calsonic GT-R gives Nissan a fourth straight win to open 2016, in GT300 I think the Hatsune Miku AMG puts GSR back on the top step of the podium for the first time since Fuji 2014.

But, tbh, I only remember the one on Mardenborough's car that was shown on Q1. Hope they'll show more on the race. |

Sunday press conference by GTA (Masaaki Bandoh)
http://www.fmotor.jp/2016sgt-rd5-fuj...ess-conference *About red flag judgement in SUGO Red flag judgement is the matter of the exclusive right the official has. I think the judgement was inevitable judges from the damage condition of the tire barrier. But from my mind, I wanted to show a last 6 laps battle to the audience as a promoter. *About JAF-GT300 BoP This BoP is to balance between FIA-GT3 which can't be remodeled and JAF-GT300 from which remodeling is free. There are no intentions to stop evolution of JAF-GT. *Next season calendar and possibility of future possible foreign race The next season's calendar isn't too different from this season. Invitation has come from Pattaya(Thailand), Sepang and Singapore. *Possibility of introducing Pre-qualifying session When participation number exceeds 45, We have to consider introduction of pre-qualifying session. Pre qualify would be held on Thursday. However, consideration is still necessary for the introduction. |

Bandoh-san had his pre-race press conference and mentioned international expansion, looking at a return to Sepang, or a debut race in either:
* A new FIA Grade 2 circuit in Pattaya, Thailand * Johor Circuit in Malaysia * The Singapore Marina Bay Street Circuit Of those three new options, I really like the last one for the spectacle alone. |

@rjoconnell
I'd like to see Super GT back in Sepang or even race in Marina Bay Sands as a night race! |

50 degrees track temperature
That bodes well for a certain red car, even with the ballast I reckon. |

Collins says track temps are currently on 50ºC. The grandstands are quite packed, that's so awesome to see
edit: J Jay already posted that and the first two are pulling away from the #1 Last edited by Artur; 7 Aug 2016 at 05:49. |

Quite a frenetic start to the race!
- Drago Modulo NSX-GT retires with rear suspension damage - Epson NSX-GT pits for tyres (come on Dunlop...) - Forum Engineering GT-R retires with engine trouble - KeePer TOM'S RC-F loses its rear wing - Excellence Porsche has a rear puncture - Studie M6 GT3 crawling round the track - R'Qs SLS GT3 loses it's bonnet and stops on track I've probably missed a couple of things as well. |

Massive shunt for Chiyo into the tyres outside T1. Hopefully he's ok.

Big stack. Thankfully not on drivers side. Scary watching it goes through the sand unabated like that into the wall. Glad to see Chiyo is ok

Listening to RLM and Bahrain race doesn't make a lot of sense unless there's money involved and I would be guessing there is and/or manufacturers pushing for it.

Bridgestone finally performed very well on such hot track. The race was quite underwhelming to me but there was a few good moments like the GT300 lead battle between the #55 BMW and the Audi and the battle for second between the GT500 cars
Very few brief live onboards were shown but only from a couple of GT300 cars. Imho, the broadcasting has lot's of room for improvement as that could also be noted when they didn't manage to properly capture Chiyo's accident. |

Glad that Team Impul got their first win for this year as the #12 Calsonic GT-R cross the finish line to claim victory in the GT500 class at Fuji! Oh, and let's not forget about Team Kunimitsu and Real Racing for taking podium finishes for Honda!
Meanwhile, I think ARTA should change brands to BMW after winning GT300 with their M6 GT3 at Fuji! Also, that on-board camera with Subaru BRZ was the main highlight for Round 5 so I'm hoping that J-Sports will show more on-board cameras for other cars. |

Does that count as "bantz" from Jiro, with his gold medal comment to Oliveira? Or is he actually referring to Brazil's gold in the shooting? Either way, it caught me off-guard!
Excellent race for the #12, dominated the field. I think the #1 crew will be disappointed with 4th (3rd was on, 2nd was a long shot) but their lead in the championship has extended to 13 points because the RC-Fs collectively took pity on the NSX-GTs and took their place at the back of the GT500 grid. |
