It's just standard Instagram fare. I might be wrong but I don't think the team have really thought too deeply about this.
It was probably more a case of - "Damn, did anybody get a picture of the car when it was out on track?" |

The livery is good to be honest. Just cannot wait to see its show at COTA. |

Is no one else frustrated at the calendar they seem to come up with? 3 races in November but nearly 3 months off over European summer?!

Yes. It is the single worst calendar in the history of motor racing calendars (with the possible exception of the fiasco that was 2012 FIA "GT1" "World Championship" and it's million revisions). Horrible timing and boring F1 circuits and standardized formats for regular rounds.

Fuji, Spa, Interlagos arent boring imo, and cota has a great layout. The gap is because they want to give teams a break after Le Mans, but its too much. They also blamed the world cup on the huge gap. Perhaps they can go to Germany and Canada next year in the summer break.

Then there's the fact that almost all the teams are European based, and July-Aug seems to be the preferred vacation break time, just like Nov-Jan is in North America. That's why in F1 from late July to late August the shops basically shut down aside from reception and souvenir areas.

Now that the WEC has proved its stability in global motorsport, I think it is high time to start expanding the schedule. Even just 1 more race to close up the summer gap would be much better for the championship. Sticking it somewhere close to Le Mans like the Nurburgring GP or Zolder (?) might keep the added costs low enough for the teams.

A race in Germany is potentially a bad idea. The crowds at the F1 race this past weekend were pretty low. I heard the super trucks series had larger crowds... Germany is saturated with motorsport. So while it may seem logical to include it on the calendar seeing as all 3 LMP1 teams are based there, the result isn't good.
Monza might have the same problem. Tifosi or die. |

Well, you never will know unless you try. So go to Germany and find out already! And yes, Audi and Porsche should be an asset there.
I'm worried about the Texas race however, what will happen if it's a failure again? Will TUSC outdraw the WEC? |

That will be hard to do. Both races are on the same day. Scheduled back to back as a matter of fact. They are doing it for the benefit of sportscar racing. WEC and TUDOR shouldn't be competing against each other. They should be United and competing against Football, Soccer, Basketball and so on. That's where the sports watching fans are. Two sportscar series fighting amongst themselves for this tiny fan base is like fighting for leftovers on thanksgiving day. Why not fight against the other sports...The motor racing market doesn't have to remain small.

Gasoline LMP1 cars are allowed to use a slightly larger refueling rig restrictor for races above 70 degrees F starting at COTA:
http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/g...trictor-boost/ Outside of that, no other BOP changes have been announced as of yet. |

If so that's not entirely true. Yeah there's the mandatory two week shut down (which a lot of guys spend working on the wind tunnel and other systems that can be classed as 'maintenance'). But this is the time of the year that a lot of guys are under pressure in the factory due to a combination of new car build for the next year beginning and reprep of two lots of components after the Germany/Hungary back to back. There is always something to do! |

How about WEC holding a street sprint showcase event in Germany? Yes it's saturated with motorsport, so much to see every weekend, but an event like the Norisring 300 for WSC is surely going to be a marketing hit. Just check how many people are there at Norisring every year for DTM!
Maybe a showcase race of 200km at Cologne or Stuggart will be awesome to enjoy at early August! |

Well, if the "winter" calendar will be introduced, realistically WEC could share a race event with formula E... but I hope this won't never happen

- It wouldn't be a standardized 6 hour distance - Norisring or those others ain't Grade 1 - No two kilometre wide asphalt runoffs in every direction And ACO would give some excuse of it not being traditional and how they need to build up on existing races or some crap |

No it makes too much sense.
When was the last ACO (as in ACO not IMSA) street race? 1990 WSC Montreal 480km? |

Good idea for a street race in general, but the FIA's reasons for turning it down are "valid" (from their kinda crappy POV on that subject), though if Monaco is a Grade 1 track, most other street circuits by comparison should also meet Grade 1, even Long Beach (in other words, the government of Monaco lines Bernie's/FOM's and the FIA's pockets).
And of course, a race in Germany would be nice in theory because Audi, Porsche and TMG are all based in Germany, but Germany, as pointed out, is already spoiled for choice with regional/national racing series. |

(just saying cause I once tried making a poll on Autosport forums on favourite street races, and people were shouting me why races like Bathurst and Isle of Man weren't listed as options ) |
