The difference between Mr Reindler and Mr Owen getting a seat, is backing. Mr Reindler has it, but does Mr Owen?

If DJR have backing then it doesn't come down to personal driver backing at all, it comes down to who DJR prefer as the faster driver = Owen.

With the recent Crimsafe and Finance Ezy cash injection and whispers of a new sponsor (that's all I know, could be nothing), my money is on Owen in #12. And yes, Owen does have a small portfolio of backers. It probably doesn't amount to Reindler's, but he does have backers.

If DJR go Reindler over Owen it will be pretty clear that they are running on fumes and the personal bank accounts of Mr Crimsafe and Mr Finance Ezy only for #17 and Reindler's portfolio for #12. A big shame if this is what comes for DJR in 2013, meaning the only thing that will save them for 2014 will be a new manufacturer deal...

I get the feeling that the interview given by the Stones/Erebus (I haven't read it - it is AA after all) would have been done with the full knowledge of what was to happen yesterday, and that Ross and Betty planned the outcome all along as a silent middle finger to the publication

I think Nick Percat is your likely entry for #91 with Coates Hire and Walkinshaw money.

QUOTE]

I personally cant see Percat being allowed anywhere NEAR 888 (TEKNO) cars if he is under contract to WP. Im sure they wont want a sniper in the camp.

thats just my thoughts.

Surely the only reason Reindler gets a gig anywhere is due to his backing/money.

He hasnt done a thing EVER !

which would mean its not a V8 supercar, as teams tend to announce that sort of thing, not a driver on the news

While I would agree that he's a nothing driver, his career til this point is comparable with Dumbrell's, who I think is a potato. Yet, some guys here rate PD , but think Reindler is ****. That being the case, Reindler is due to win Bathurst in a few years.

Mr Dumbrell is a V8SC racewinner, polesitter and Bathurst winner.

Mr Reindler is not.

What's Reindler had at his disposal in his career at this stage? 2 years in the third BJR car made out of leftovers and 1 year in the forth KR car, also made out of leftovers.

What did PD have at his disposal throughout his career?
-Perkins Engineering (4 years)
-PWR (1 year during their downward spiral)
-Walkinshaw's, in identical cars to HRT (2 years)
-FPR/RNR #55 (2 years)

Hardly a fair measure to play the devil's advocate for a second.

And if Reindler gets the #12 gig this year, that will hardly be a rocket with DJR's budget - most of no doubt going into #17!

I'm neither a Reindler or PD fan - just sayin'

Van Giz HAS signed with Tekno. The deal is DONE, despite what may or may not be announced this evening.

After a quick glance at the calendars, apart from the V8 Supercar Test Day, which clashes, it would be possible to compete in both V8 Supercar and V8 Supertourers.

You'll find Giz will be in a 'very important' techno car, much to the surprise of his ex-team manager who believed his former charge's sob story.

WRONG. full time drive. Guaranteed. I might be new to the silly season conversation but I know what's going on.

Their web site if full of black grey and blue, (some orange writing) I would think those first 3 colours will go very well on the Merc
