I really was disappointed with the Eastern Creek times...not much faster than a F3

As suggested by Mac a couple of weeks ago Marcus Marshall is to take over from Will Davison for the next three races. I have not followed Champcar so don't know how good he is, but if my understanding is correct he has not exactly set the world on fire?
Is this a case of Marshall buying the drive or does Davison have other commitments? Shame Will Power left, they have not repeated their Brands Hatch form. |

Has Marshall been confirmed ??
His performances is CC werent anything to write home about, however this wasn't surprising given that he had come from Brit F3/ Aus F3 and Carerra Cup into ChampCar. Unfortunately Will Davison has touring car commintments in Australia, howeever I beleive a driver change was needed anyways, just not with Marshall. |

Come to think of it, Christian Jones has recent experience of Sentul from his Asian F3 involvement. If there was one track that he would be relatively good at, it is this one.

That these categories aren't a great stepping stone to go straight into CC.

What's the big difference between Formula Atlantic and British F3... the lack of consistent Top 5 results in F3 are a problem for CC or A1 or indeed F1, no worries for V8s though will do good there. Knowing the American tracks hardly accounts for seconds worth of lap time... By F1 and subsequently the leading A1 standards Will Davison and Marshall weren't good enough, they would rightly be mocked like Yoong if they were piloting Midlands around unfortunately that's just how it is. Sure the ADR team also has issues... |

you are about 70% right ... you are kidding yourself if you think the french team are not 100x better in dailing in their car than the Aussies their car is the best setup car no matter what the track there is quite a few setup combo's to make a car good or crap the Aussie team is not up to the job and the proof is the results in quail and the sprint race |

Lets face it if the desperados at the front hadn't committed suicide it was unlikely the team were going to get onto the podium. At the end of the day though the old saying still holds true: "first you have to finish". |

I'm not really a fan of marcus marshall, but he did get a good result this race, lets see how he goes next, and i don't think the aussie car is up to speed set-up wise, alan jones needs to lift his team.

marshall
its funny no matter what marshall does in motorsport 90 percent of people on this forum BAG the CRAP out of him why is that, is it that 90 percent of the people on this forum are drivers or just negative people with nothing better to do. seriously if your fans of racing why not support your australian drivers or get out there yourself and do a better job.

no not at all but the 1st race should be the most levelest and ADR are a britished base Aussie team so I think they know Brands very very well plus Will P is a real talent without a doubt .
but well done to MM he drove well and ADR / A Jones I hope this is a turning point I still see Team Aus main fualt is practice /setup and the sprint race we need to allow your driver being MM to have the car ALL weekend to get as much bum time as poss the sprint race is to important in trems of points to be stuffing around in the midfeild in the past Will D and now MM have shown they can drive through the grid NOW lets try to start them higher up |

Marshall is okay for V8s still a bit behind the Cantos etc. in my opinion hence he ran about 3rd/4thish in the PWR Falcon in the Konicas, but nowhere near as good as Will Power and miles behind Mark Webber. You can't just say what a great job he's doing cause he's gone from 2.5 off pole to 1.9 off pole. If Marshall was driving for Midland F1 he would be laughed at like Yoong and it would be rightly so, whereas the Lapierre's and Kerr's would probably be able to be fairly respectable pay-drivers for Midland. Gotta be realistic, this A1 is a global contest, evidence suggest MM was a backmarker in Champcar, for the most part apart from the wet didn't get much done in British F3 etc... From most countries such as Finnland or France etc. also there are only a handful of drivers who are good enough to make genuine claims for F1 test roles or better ours are Courtney, Briscoe, Webber and maybe there are others that Alan Jones needs to find and put in the A1 car. I support Power but it's evident that Power isn't good enough for that few, but Power is good enough to be career Champcar driver like Tagliani, so if Alan Jones can't find option A he needs to unearth a driver good enough to be a career Champcar driver to go in the A1 car. Marshall is not the former few drivers, and he had a chance to be in the latter bunch and did not impress. Sorry but please be objective. |

Congrats to MM on a great result, but it was interesting to see his best lap time was 1.7 seconds off Canadas, and about .7 off the rest of the fields best lap time.
But by staying out of trouble, and having a little luck (something Team Aus has lacked lately), a good result is on the board. Now, where do they find that second a lap??? |
