The Libra and Highway to Help entries if they go through could knock out Euro P2 entries from the Daytona 24. Honestly I got no problem with that.

Sounds like he is close to a full season ride.
Yeah, I think if there's a year they'll get it together it's this year. Maybe this is the best chance to make hay by approaching from a slightly different angle as well. I think De Crem has at least a little backing to bring? That might help as well.

There were other "spirit" sponsorships in the ALMS. Aviation Gin comes to mind on a PC car. In Dempsey's show on Discovery they showed a meeting with a another tequila company trying to pitch them on coming on board.

I wasn't sure on De Crem's backing, but I had that thought as well. I will be happy to see Libra out there for as many races as possible.

Can't say but we need great 3rd & 4th drivers for Sebring & Daytona.
So BMW may be doing four drivers... a little unusual for GTLM.

They have 2 cars, right? Might just be extra guys for both cars?

Wouldn't that be 5th and 6th, though? Or do you mean extra as in back-up drivers?

TUSC allows more than three drivers per car for the longer races. The limit at Daytona is five drivers, though many cars use four.

For Sebring, the limit is four driver, though most teams will only use three.

I know, just odd for a GTLM team to run more than three.

If you've got the talent available (additional factory drivers), why not use it? The 1st hour of that additional factory driver is likely going to be better than the 8th hour in the car of a three driver lineup at Daytona.

Indeed, BMW has a pretty good roster to choose from, so it would make sense.

A little more information on the Turner Motorsport BMW Z4 GTD program from John Dagys is available here. The highlight: a second car is probably but only a some point after Daytona.

Also, Paul Dalla Lana will be driving the car, which puts a big question mark on Aston Martin Racing's NAEC entry

edit: Never mind, read at the bottom that Dalla Lana is expected to pull double duty driving the Turner and AMR cars

Not really, as that’s essentially old information. We’ve known for some time now that Dalla Lana was planning on doing double duty at Daytona (and presumably other NAEC races).

The Z4 GTE is a beast but I quite like the GT3 version in the Turner livery as well. It's nice to see them going with a GT3 car instead of the silhouette M3. I wonder what level of support (if any) they will receive from BMW? Surely manufacturers have an interest in doing well in GTD even though GTLM is the primary target.

Can a driver do that with two different teams?

Should not be any different from a driver appearing in two cars for the same team. Perhaps the more interesting question is whether a driver can be eligible to score points in two different classes in the same race. That I know nothing about...

Don't be giving Tucker any ideas, he'll field a car in every class.

I'm pretty sure Drivers can only elect to score points in one car even if they drive two or more. That's how it worked for Tucker and Level 5. Dalla Lana will probably elect to score points in the full-season Turner BMW rather than the NAEC-only Aston Martin.

Maybe that is only for if the cars are in the same class? Might be different for PDL as the Z4 and Vantage are racing in different classes.

I believe in Grand-Am last year it was allowed as long as said driver qualified one of the cars.
