Guys, don't think that the people at MSV don't read your comments as they do! All it takes is a simple phone call if you have questions, surely that's not too much for you to do given you are getting a track day for free? MSV still have to pay their own marshals and other circuit staff to be there for you so please use a little common sense if you need information. If we keep moaning about this and that then there will not be any more track days so come on, lets chill.

And further to what Stephen has said, dropping a thank you email to JP after the event is a nice thought. I did it after last years Oulton track day and had a reply off JP the day after.

but as these days are a good will gesture on the part of Jonathon Palmer and his team, why when we are getting it all for free should MSV go to the expense of posting out info packs?
Agreed, but the point is that some people have had more information than others, its clear from these posts that we are grateful, and my post started along that theme.

Nobody is asking MSV to encur extra expense, clearly some/all of the communication has been by email.

I have emailed Nick on a couple of occasions and he has confirmed that despite no emails received I am on the list, he also provided me with the time of sign on, and some info about Helmets, I have found him accommodating and prompt with his replies.

My comment was purly based around the inconsistancy of information issued to us.

I agree we should all email/write our thanks, and we can all have a safe enjoyable day where our cars stay in the same shape from beginning to the end.

RD then forwarded the email to me.

Had my first proper drive round Brands today (rather than the leisurely cruises to post I've done previously), brilliant experience. Top marks for effort to the boys in the Lupo diesel - what it lacked in power was made up for in body roll, as proved by the photos at lunchtime! Nice to be able to push my car a bit more than usual, and to experience Paddock Hill at something above walking pace was quite something - can't imagine what it feels like in a proper racer. Many thanks to all at MSV for today, roll on next yea!

What a day!

I`ve got to echo all comments about giving us the opportunity for the track day at Cadwell! The weather was nice and dry aswell.

How did he put the Porsche there?

I had a fantastic time although struggled to get fast laps in as I was to busy looking in my rear view mirror at flying machines coming past me at a rate of knots!!! Mine was the blue Peug 207 which felt like it was going to roll in a number of corners when i pushed it too hard. ha ha

Thanks to JP, the team and especially the pit lane guy. (great job mate)

One thing I do appreciate now is how important we are as marshalls to the drivers as we are the only form of communication. This was nearly to my cost when I met a VW golf head on in the hairpin section. He must have only just spun hence no flag.?..?

Did anybody get any pictures of my peug 207. If you got a picture of me on two wheels (Very much doubt) i will send you a cash prize. I took quite a few photo`s but only on the digital so if you let me know your car and e-mail address I will send them!

Thanks again everybody

Rich

Rich if you PM me the details of the pug and email address i will check the 600+ photos taken by myself and my 13 year old son. there could well be a couple on the mountain and if you stayed the full day maybe park corner aswell.

I had the same problem of faster cars and a car that didn't handle I was in the Volvo V40. That Porsche was just to quick into gooseneck which thru him wide judging by the tyre marks he over corrected and bang. I also met that camo coloured golf sideways at gooseneck my main worry during the day was the westies they come at you all of a sudden

anybody else that was at cadwell if you PM car details and email address i will send any photos i have Colin yours are being sorted, Steve PM sent

Damn, will not be able to make the Oulton day, down to one car at the mo and cannot justify hurling the Focus Round OP
Have emailed Nick at MSV so if there is anyone on the reserve list a spot has just opened up!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Yes Martin - that beemer...

I spent 2 hours on Sunday cleaning it and then after 15min straight into the gravel. Magic...

Still I blame the new tyres, there was gravel on track and oil on the racing line etc.

Short Circuit should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Great big huge thanks to everyone involved in organising these trackdays.

I was finally happy to get my XR4x4 out and use it for the reason I brought it.

I too had the same problem with the camo Golf at Cadwell, I had just followed him out the paddock, he made it to the hairpin before I took evading action

oooo and apologies to Mr palmer I cut the grass at the gooseneck but it was that or get rather too close to a spinning red metro!

My day was cut a little bit short when my power steering fluid decided to boil up leaving me with the the turning circle of a juggernaut - not fun heading into mansfield!! (atleast i was wise and hired a trailer!!)

Big thankyou again to everyone who made the day possible and to Colin for bringing his Rover.

The red flag strikes again... I gave up fairly early as, same as last year, cadwell seems to catch out the unwary and we see a few red flags. Shame, as it's a great circuit.

Just did the one session, as always many drivers not using their mirrors. Many don't believe that you appeared behind them because you actually might be quicker than them over the course of a lap, even if you don't have the power to outdrag them on a straight.

Was good to meet a few oranges, including the bear, but when we saw the damage the 968 caused, we thought we'd call it a day. We headed off over the pennines, enjoyed some country roads and pub grub.

As always, big thanks to MSV, it's great to get the opportunity to see the armco from the tarmac, instead of vice versa!

On a serious note though, will they pull it if the weather is as they claim its gonna be? Cos now its looking worse, forecast upto 4" of snow on the low lands and alot more up high! That coupled with the wind and we're looking at near blizzard conditions.
