I walked the circuit on Sunday.
Most of the concrete barriers and debris fencing is in place as are the pedestrian bridges. The circuit looks very challenging with some sharp adverse camber in places and quite narrow with un forgiving concrete either side with no where to go. The biggest car park has been resurfaced and forms the chicane backing on to Prince of Wales Drive. Just a hint for those travelling by bus, is to get an Oyster card from a local newsagent as buses do not take cash. Card is £5 deposit plus the money you decide to put on it with no expiry for any balance. Also Oyster trips are two thirds the price of standard travel. For those camping there are plenty of pubs doing food and restaurants within a short walk from the park so you won't starve. Good luck and see you there. |

Just use a contactless credit/debit card on public transport.
Saves on the £5 purchase price and means you don't leave any unused balance. Oyster is so yesterday. |

Oyster cards so yesterday! Up North we still use the barter system. At best we may spend the odd farthing or groat (still buys you a pint and some chips up 'ere).

Had to pull out last minute and gutted - circuit looks rather challenging and lacks many overtaking spots. Stay safe.

R1 started under SC as 1st corner too tight for racing! WTF?
Watched it on TV until 1/2 way thru the race, then got bored. I just hope it was more interesting for our friends on the ground. |

T1 large bump, which I understand is being resurfaced tonight.
Cars are fast, make noise and tyres make fragrant smells when dragged over tarmac. Lots of downtime, but I am really enjoying a street race in London. |

You should have stuck with it. It got very close after a safety car around half way. I was quite impressed with the cars and the close racing. Public seemed to enjoy it as well! Roll on tomorrow! They're apparently attempting to resurface the offending first corner overnight!

Circuit still very bumpy, but today's race was pretty good overall - better than yesterday, for sure - although the circuit wasn't really wide enough for proper racing....

I'm a bit baffled as to why they set up such a narrow circuit (obviously they're constrained in that location, which makes me think the location won over any actual racing requirements). I would have considered that about right for kart racing, but a bit silly in a fairly quick formula.

I watched the coverage on ITV yesterday pm, it looked like good fun, and there were some complimentary remarks about the marshals. The crowds were certainly enthusiastic, particularly with the close racing towards the end. Funny enough, by the end I didn't even notice the cars made unusual noises......

It WAS fun!
It was fun being part of motor racing history, it was fun being SOOOOOO close to the action, and it was fun marshalling a street circuit as opposed to viewing cars across acres of gravel - very spectacular! Yes there were teething snags, but that was always going to be the case. Thanks to the great team at Post 3 (Prince Albert!) - Paul, Graeme, Dave and all the crew; a good weekend was had by all! |

Back in work after a fantastic three days in battersea Park. Lots of laughs on Post 12 with a great team (Myself as I.O., 4 incident marshals including my son, a flag marshal and a JCB snatch driver from Snetterton). Apart from a bit of debris removal in Saturdays FP1 we only had one incident to deal with which was the car that was impaled into the Techpro barrier 3/4 way through Sundays race. As soon as we had the call from RC with the last car number the team raced to the car, got it hooked up and pulled out of the Techpro, moved back to my side of the circuit and placed behind the concrete wall. All done so smoothly that the Safety car was only out for one lap! Pity the TV coverage didnt show my team at work but we did get lots of cheers and applause from the large crowd in the raised viewing area.
Thank you MSVR for including us in the marshalling team. This will be one event on the 2016 calender that I'll be voluntering for again. |

Indeed it was - was good to be part of a small team with you, being part of a bigger team making a little bit of history
We seemed to make fairly close friends with Messrs Trulli, Piquet and Yamamoto over the weekend although I think their impression of turn 3 might be a little different! Big thanks and a very big well done to all the guys from turns 2 & 3 who got out to clear debris in a *very* short window of opportunity during yesterday's race. One of the park employee's teenage children went home very happy, carrying a trashed front wing endplate off one of the Amlin cars. I think we were particularly lucky in our location in that we didn't have many spectators (was a 'red zone' for the public) and we had some very helpful Wandsworth Park Police controlling the park gate (meaning we could nip to the shop). Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Onwards, to the Big Clubbie! |

A huge well done to the organisers and management that created this series and have found a brilliant product.
It was an honour and a great pleasure to be at this highly successful event. Two days of brilliant racing; who cares what the naysayers say about the power source with racing that close, tight and competitive long live Formula E. More next year please. IT'S A SUCCESS. |

Thanks to the team on posts 4 & 5, for a brilliant weekend.
I never heard a negative comment from anyone, marshal or spectator all weekend. Comment of the weekend "your good at running and hiding" Definitely be on my list of must do events next year ! |
