Confirmed it will be a driver announcement, both said to be V8 Supertourer "Youngsters", smart money on Heimgartner and Pedersen, with the outsiders Simon Evans and Richard Moore in with a sniff.

I think in terms of NZ's young guys it's the best pairing they could have formed. Pedersen is a proven race winner in the Supertourers, and Andre has risen through the ranks, achieving and progressing through the ranks. If I was making the decision it'd be these same two guys. There's the Hallidays, Gaunts, Reids out there, but why not give these two young guys a shot? They're not brand new to V8 racing or the Mountain, so it's not a complete risk.

Will they win it? No, but i doubt anyone they put in the seats could have, do they have two young drivers that will represent them well and be able to get Kiwi's interested in the race? Definitely.

A shame to have potentially lost 2 cars out of the B1000... funny thing is, with the right budget, you could actually likely find the right people to rebuild the cars, to test them and some pilots, and get cars on the grid. If you started today. Every other day that goes past makes it harder & harder..
