How often do you repeat something after 46 years. The last time I drove an E type with no brakes was at Brands in 1965. Today I drove one with the rear brake calipers buggerd and pumping with my left foot to get some pressure, decided I didnt want to repeat history so put it on the trailer to the workshop.
On a good note got the 13" wheels and tyres on the Escort and had the suspension all sorted, even had it corner weighted, what ever that is and it now steers in a straight line now.

Could they not manage to get it to steer round corners instead?

Moosehead should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
After some awful pit stops this year where we've had trouble re-fitting the quick release (not quick fit) steering wheel we decided for the race yesterday to exit and re-enter the car without removing the wheel. We knew it was possible but to see how we would do under pressure we practiced a few times...........
...........got a bad back now!

Apparently I've got to start doing some Yoga to make me more flexi

ps - pit stop was much better, best this year

LOL, yeah you need a tall diff! That was a 3:50 and the shift light was set around 6500 iirc. If I went back I'd go with a 3:20 or maybe even a 3:00. The infield section is small compared to the oval so you can compromise acceleration if you need to. I reckon Curt Vogt and Co must be pulling 160+

Curt and co will be running a 3.50, which is what I will as my car was running a 3.89, but i can rev to 8000, which is approx 180

I would have gone a tad higher and kept out the 8k's. I bet the power starts tailing off after 7k anyhow so why wear it out.

Also once you get that slab shaped thing over 140mph it will be like hitting a brick wall, check out how much extra BHP is required for every mph above 150, you would be surprised.
