The provisional British GT Calendar has been revealed, so along with BF3, it will probably mirror this calendar somewhat:

03-05 Apr, Oulton Park (with British F3)
08/09 May, Knockhill
22/23 May, Magny-Cours, France
03/04 Jul, Snetterton (with British F3)
17/18 Jul, Rockingham (with British F3)
14/15 Aug, Silverstone GP (2hr race, with British F3)
25/26 Sep, Brands Hatch GP (with British F3)
16/17 Oct, Donington Park (2hr race, partner races tba)

Unfortunately test was abandoned by Dunlop at lunchtime as dry running was not possible. There was some running in the morning on wets, teams drivers as follows:

Jamun - Josh Hill/Chris Maliepard
JTR - Nick Tandy
KMR - Dan Cammish
Fluid - Garry Findlay & ????
Raysport - Scott Malvern

Approx times from what I saw (please forgive me if wrong) Tandy got into the 18's everyone else 19's (I think but I may have missed timing one or two laps)

Apparently GV also ran two drivers on Dunlops at Mallory recently????

Jamun (Josh Hill) and Minister (De Zille) were testing at Oulton today, Hill looked substantially quicker!

FF Sampler Day Rockingham

Checked out the FF Sampler Day at Rockingham yesterday. Interesting mix of teams running their regular drivers such as KMR-Cammish & Getem-De Wit obviously using it as another early opportunity to gain data on the new Dunlop Wets while others gave runs to karters and drivers from other series. Saw FVee champ Sam Olivera out in a JTR Mygale. Clio Cup Champ Phil Glew drove just about every car there for a forthcoming Motorsport News feature. Juno gave their new 010 chassis a shake down in the afternoon with Scott Malvern at the helm.

For full report of the day look here http://www.britishformulaford.co.uk/...009/031209.htm

Jamun tested two young Dutch drivers for 2 days each Brands last week and from reports both were very quick although apparently one of them did have a very big off. Closer to home I think Jamun are also considering Dan Cammish and Scott Malvern and it's a possibility that McKenna could return if he chooses not to go to Star Mazda in the USA.

Also a few interesting snippets in the Motorsport News today about drivers looking to come into the series next year that were driving at the sampler day at Rockingham last week including David Ellesley (Fiestas), Sam Oliveira (FVee) and Martin Galpin (FF1600)

I understand that Jamun did a few days with Josh Hill but they were all on the new Dunlop wets. Don't know of anyone that has done any meaningful testing on slicks yet unless someone has sneaked off abroad!

Yep I think since the sampler day only Hill and De Zille have been out. I guess most teams will be finishing whatever Avons they have left before using Dunlops.

Any more driver news for next year? None of the other teams seem to have been out since the sampler day.

Yes that is the calendar that Racing Line have published in their 2010 Formula Ford Championship brochure. If Donington goes ahead it will be a very busy Semptember! But its a decent schedule

On Dunlops?

Wets or slicks?

Are the Dunlops faster or slower? Or about the same?

Understand you need to run massive amount of neg camber now like the old FRenault

End of season just got even busier with Snetterton now being moved to August bank holiday weekend. That means final four events take place over five weekends and a very tight turn around between Snetterton (Bank Hol Monday) and DTM support event at Brands the following weekend. Revised calendar is now:
  • 03-05 April, Oulton Park , British F3
  • 08/09 May, Knockhill, British GT
  • 05/06 June, Zandvoort, Formula 3 Masters
  • 19/20 June, Castle Combe, Britcar
  • 17/18 Jul, Rockingham, British F3
  • 14/15 Aug, Silverstone GP, British F3
  • 29/30th August, Snetterton, British F3 (Sunday/Monday)
  • 4/5 Sep, Brands Hatch Indy, DTM
  • 18/19 Sep, Donington, BTCC
  • 25/26 Sep, Brands Hatch GP, British F3
