morninggents should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Although the 250 SWB is a great car and the Breadvan is great through it's quirkiness the 250 GTO has to be the one for me for it's fantastic look and lines from all angles.
With the little bit of change a 3.8 Mk II Jag - something to go to the secure storage in to drool over the GTO from time to time - and a quarter of midget gems to munch during the drooling.
Anything left then goes into a '65 Mustang or Falcon to race.

Expect my lottery winnings may only stretch to the midget gems!

the trouble with fancy fiats and some other exotica is they're not very usable . . . I like the idea that, what ever your budget or choice, your not afraid to use it, and you actually can.

even a modest sports cars almost a waste of time on the road, legally at leas!t

The Weastfieldbend list comes out at 2 million and change would think or less than a million if the E Type was like most of others racing a rep.

Just a 917 - preferably Pedro's Brands car but I wouldn't be that picky! The rest of the money to a better cause - I'd have had enough.......

The Wild Side

I would buy a time machine and do the 1965 Targa Florio in my Ferrari 275P2 with Nino Vaccarella as co-driver and Pans People as Pit crew.
(I`m going for a little lie down now)

My needs are simple:

Pre-War:

Alfa 8C2900B Le Mans
Bugatti T22
Frazer Nash TT Rep

Post-War:

Alfa T33 Stradale
Lancia Aurelia B20
Cisitalia 202
Lancia Hyena

.....oh, and a Golf for the wife....

That should use up most, if not all the budget!

I'll not go for the super exotics like 8Cs, Bugattis, 250GTOs, 917s etc, although the one off 1938 Touring bodied 8C which so nearly slaughtered everything at Le Mans that year would probably be ultimate prewar competition car, but then that would probably be the £15m blown in one go.

So:-

Aston Martin ex works team LM
Talbot 105 ex works team car
Delage 3 litre - one off Figoni & Falachi bodied Coupe raced by Louis Gerard (except I don't think it exists with that body anymore)
Aston Martin DB3S Coupe
Aston Martin DBR1/300
Aston Martin DB4GT
Ferrari 250/275LM
BMW 3.0CSL 'Batmobile' (in Gosser Beer Livery)
BMW M1 (in BASF livery)
Porsche 935/78 (either 'Moby Dick' or the Kremer imitation in 'Momo' livery)
Lancia LC2 Martini
Aston Martin DBR9

I think that I've now exceeded budget!
