Note that 20 drivers were within 1,1 second in qualifying and that's on a long (1 min 51 secs) lap. Possibly the most competitive series in the world this year.

Should mention rounds 3 and 4 at Zandvoort, supporting the F3 Masters. Felipe Nasr won race one and British driver Jack Harvey won race 2. Great result by Harvey, like Turvey and Calado he is backed by the Racing Steps Foundation, and they are all race winners in their categories this year. His team mate at Fortec Will Buller also scored a pole on home turf at Silverstone last weekend, and currently lies 11th in the standings.

Indeed, you can watch both of the races in full too at http://www.cpz.nl/action/racecam/
Can also watch the full f3 race from that link.

Ironic really that the only FBMW Europe race most people will get see this year is the only one not on the F1 support bill, which is supposedly the best platform to be on...

Holzer will return to the series in Nurburgring, don't know with how many cars or which drivers yet.

I think Nasr is a bit special. He had a win and a second in Zandvoort and seems always to be there or thereabouts. Brazilian, of course, and with a Piquet connection, although not by blood.

He might be but in general his case is a bit special in that his family has a F3 team and apparently the boy has lots and lots of F3 mileage under his belt. Not your regular F.BMW driver.

Some pretty unfortunate news surfaced today for Formula BMW-Europe's points leader; Michael Christensen. Mücke Motorsport has been given a four-round suspension for illegal oil pressure relief valve springs.

I thought the engine is all serviced by Schnitzer and they're not talking about broken seals.

According to Autosport they'll miss Spa as well, though they will be back for Monza.
