Season Odds - Micheal and Ferrari Favourite
With well over two weeks to go Micheal is still favourite to land the 2004 crown.
From William Hill: Michael Schumacher 11/10 K Raikkonen 7/2 J P Montoya 7/2 Ralf Schumacher 11/2 R Barrichello 20/1 F Alonso 20/1 D Coulthard 20/1 J Trulli 66/1 J Button 80/1 1/3 Odds Place 1,2 Hmmm an each way on Rubens seens good... Any other decent odds there? |

Constructors Championship (again from William Hill):
Ferrari 6/5 Williams 6/4 McLaren 7/2 Renault 16/1 Toyota 33/1 Sauber 50/1 Jordan 66/1 Jaguar 66/1 British American Racing 80/1 Minardi 300/1 Win only. They don't rate Jaguar Racing then. |

The odds are largely based on the past couple of seasons - although I'm not sure why BAR are so far out - I'd expect them to repeat last season's 5th overall at least.

I was surprised that Alonso didnt get higher up in the order, that Renault has looked spectacular lately.
And with BAR that far back.... i cant trust these odds. |

Minardi should have higher odds Frank williams that they were the 5th best team in testing, with Mclaren way off the pace.

Realistically, after DC the rest should not even be there, at least to win the WDC. As for constructors, after the top 4, no team has a chance of taking that. Don't these odds seem more intune to individual races rather than the overall crown?

Bookies odds are always shorter than real life, otherwise they wouldn't make any money.

Well..looking at testing times, the Walrus-BMW is unlikely to fail.
And i do resist being too optimistic about Ferrari's chances looking at the way BS is doing.. |

If it was a horse race, that particular favourite would have the form:
1111 ...hard to argue with! |

Ladbrokes have got Melbourne race odds:
M Schumacher _2/1 JP Montoya _3/1 R Schumacher _6/1 K Raikkonen _7/1 R Barrichello _7/1 F Alonso _8/1 D Coulthard _12/1 J Trulli _16/1 J Button _33/1 T Sato _66/1 C Da Matta _100/1 M Webber _100/1 O Panis _100/1 G Fisichella _125/1 N Heidfeld _125/1 F Massa _150/1 C Klien _250/1 G Pantano _250/1 G Bruni _500/1 Z Baumgartner _500/1 Some good bargains in that lot - Ralf is twice the odds of Juan, Button might be worth a bet for a podium... |

Certainly. Ralf is looking better for a bet than Montoya. I think Sato is a good one too, as well as Button. What about Trulli for a podium?

Do you mean that Rafe's price looks better, or you think that he has more chance Adam?

Ralf does not stand only half the chance that Montoya does - which is what the odds woud lead you to believe. Probably no more than a couple of per cent in it between those two.

Nah, Coulthard looks like a better bet to me.
He always seems to do very well in Melbourne. |
