Can't be bothered to list them. but 41 days on the bank this year, half of them hillclimbs or sprints.

Will try to do better next year?

Okay, too many to list and including racing, rallying, hillclimbs and test/media days, it runs to 95 days for 2004 (counting the 11 days still to come). That's almost one in three, but it is my job! A couple of times there have been two events on one day, but that can be a bit stressful...
Time for a bit of a lie down, I think.

Haha my list kind of pales in comparison to some peoples, just the British and Chinese Grand Prix this year.

Couldn't make it to the LMES at Silverstone or the GT's at Castle Combe annoyingly. Always next season though.

None-unless you count the live action at the Autosport show!
Back in 1974 I spent 46 days at race circuits.

By 31-12-04 I will have done 42 events and a total of 62 days marshaling in 2004. Thanks to all my fellow marshals who made it such fun and not forgeting all drivers, riders, circuit staff, club organisers etc.

The London/Brighton today was my 55th day marshalling this year, sadly only Boxing Day @ Mallory left.

How about a day at the seaside - Anglesey, 5 December - and you get a lie-in; racing doesn't start till 10.00 am.

Or, alternatively fancy a trip to the world famous Aintree racecourse because marshals are needed on the weekend 19-21 November but especially 19.

Not only I'm I now going to Anglesey, but also to the BARC meeting on the Stowe circuit on November 28th. Is this a drug or what?

That is a seriously impressive list Mr Leedham - 62 give or take I make it.
I have totalled 47 this year - not bad I think considering I have to work 3 weekends out of four!
No wonder I only have 20 hours Annual Leave left between now and 31st March!!!

Numbers aren't everything

So far in 2004 I have attended 33 Motor Sports Events.

This ranges from the fantastic Historic Racing Car Show at Stoneleigh early in the year through to a sprint at Curborough in October which was the last event I attended.

When I was first working I had to plan my year's motorsport carefully and would only attend maybe 4 or 5 events. However they would include the Grand Prix, Oulton Park Gold Cup and similar prestige meetings.

The most events I have attended in one year was 45, but that was a hell of a push. I included half a dozen weekends where I would go to Oulton Park on the Saturday and Silverstone on the Sunday.

I've got some more to add - 3 race meetings at Wimbledon (is it 2 or 3 Chezza?), Race of Champions, Botley Hill Scatter Rally... I think thats it for the year. Maybe.

I lost count at 100 days of motorsport doings... at least a third of the year spent with cars...

Blimey - its taken over my life!
