I believe it has a 5 activations allowance, so you should be safe enough. After that they ask you to contact them directly.

You should have a password from your original activation.

If you don't, you can contact Trymedia and they'll give you a new password, if you give them the e-mail address you used when originally activating rFactor.

when you buy the game, you do so via your email address as a user ID. when you reinstall the game, it'll ask you to activate it, and a small link near the bottom says "already bought?" or something similar. I think that takes you to a form to confirm the email addy you used and the activation code, which you should have kept safe Enter those and it's installed again.

You get 5 times to do that, then you have to email trymedia (forget the address but its on racesimcentral) and request a new unlock code. That usually takes 24hrs or so (think they check records to ensure the previous code wasn't cloned or shared) then email you with another code good for another 5 goes. Bit of an odd way of doing it, but it's not really hackable and doesn't involve nasty rubbish like starforce protection so i'm fine with it.

Save a copy of your driver profile.

Go to your rFactor folder ---> userdata. In there, there is a folder by the name of your driver profile. In my case its "DMN". When you do your fresh install, just drop that folder back into the userdata folder.

This will unlock the game without using up one of your re-activations.

And me. Got rF running on a comp thats never had an internet line connected, that way. Basically used an external 200gb HD and copied/pasted everything over, d/c'd when it was done and went upstairs to play rF.
