Why was the N'B' Ring tricky for some?

I haven't put alot of thought into this Q so i hope it's something relevant.
I noticed several drivers that are usually very good having alot of trouble getting to grips with the 'ring.

Anybody know if this track is particularly difficult to set up for?
I thought at first it just might be the low grip -which would explain why the gentle ralf had no problems but JPM did.
But that doesn't explain button being flogged consitantly beaten by sato.
What kind of set up is usual for the 'ring anyway?

The answer is not that simple, but in reality apart from the track itself (which is also important), you need to look at the nature of the car and tyres and how the driver has got adapted to it. One good example is Barrichello, why was he more competitive and quicker than Schumacher in Nurburg with the F2002 and F2003?

Michael has been quicker than Rubens every race this year, the reason for this is because Ferrari have gone back to a shorter wheel based car which suits Michaels style more than Rubens, so that would explain why Rubens may have been better in 2003. 2002 was because Ferrari were up in front of the FIA 3 days later and needed to hand Rubens back his victory.

Well during practice the drivers seemed to be having a lot of trouble into turn 1 and the Mercedes complex. A number of them were locking up the right front going into turn 1 and several had offs in the Mercedes complex. The commentators on Speed's coverage mentioned something about a bump going into turn 1 that was upsetting the cars.

Hey Guys! No doubt Schumacher is quicker than Barrichello. Just saying that for Rubens to be quicker than Michael, a number of things would have to go to his favour.

Now... if the car suits more Schumacher... Rubens can't do much more than trying different strategies
