I spent a bit of time with a needle file and it does not look half bad, worth taking a chance on anyhow as they are about £380 a set!

Now go over the filed areas with some fine emery and WD40,just to get rid of any stress raisers.

Al I recently spent a day racing a Formula TKM /2 kart with [unbeknowns to me] a monster crack up the skirt. That motor was hitting 16,800 rpm at the end of every straight. Your yank-tank just ticks over, you'll be fine. Just file it down [don't use wet and dry as the sand can get embedded in the ally and wear your bore away] and make sure there are no other cracks in it. If was part of a balanced set... its now part of an imbalanced set ! Who cares !

Thanks guys, I like that last comment Davy, on skinny little historic tyres I can loose the odd horsepower here and there, she almost cuts it with a mildish hydaulic cammed engine with unported heads!

I just read my last comment again... God, it reads like something from a Benny Hill script. I meant to say a monster crack up the skirt of the piston in the motor I was using ! I wasn't cross-dressing... honest
