Unfortunately it could happen to Anglia drivers too - David Pearson at Cadwell park in the mid-60s.

I am sure they did get raced here in New Zealand. As you say most things did although I can't immediately find any photos. The "A40" in this photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/warwick...7609140652794/ is a replica of a very successful car from the 60s and 70s.

And there was the 1960 BTCC Championship winner & 2nd the year before.
Doc Shepard, Don Moore 1000 c.c car.

John Searby, brg 1000 c.c car won the I.C.S championship in the early 90's.
David Lewis, red/white 1275 c.c fast car also ran in that series

Ginger Payne raced a 1000 c.c car.

Mike Cave/ Harry Digby, 1275 c.c car entered by Richard Miles ( Downton ) London.
This car ran mainly down south, Combe,Brands,Crystal Palace & Goodwood.
It was & farina grey mk1 with a different grille area, it ran a Downton dry sump motor & held many track class lap records & won the Goodwood Members Championship for many years.
I think this car was later raced by Gordon Spice in Guyana.
Steven Miles ( Richards son ) runs a replica in the Masters series.

John never ran in the ICS but in the HRSR.
Pete Bevan (George's son) raced an A40 as well.

Current owner just sent me these photos of my old car, still racing in Texas.
And I think the only A40 racing in North America.

Very near Dallas & strange as it may seem I am in Austin, close to the Hill Country area & this is one of the worst flood areas in the USA.
And there is usually one rain event per year.

I remember this car very well - Farina Grey. It won the saloon car handicap race by a country mile at Phoenix Park in 1963. Totally outfoxed the handicappers, well driven, must have has a F Junior engine. Happy days.

This is a photo of the actual car as raced by Harry Digby at Castle Combe on 30th August 1965. Although this is a black and white photo, the grey colour is probably pretty accurate!

That's also the car Gordon Spice raced in Guyana and Barbados November 1972 - there is a picture in the Barbados rally Club 50 year book (0-50 years) page 66 and clearly same registration number - Also pictured in the Autosport report on the events - it was sold to Bajan Mickey Hutchinson - sold to Steve Castagne in Trinidad - raced by Siimon Gillmore in Guyana in 1974 - still in Trinidad as far a known - last seen black and red - picture on trinituner.com

Lovely photos Jonathon, hopefully dad will let you show us many more in the months to come. The photo might have been taken in 1965 as I think that is Ray Calcutt in the Fraser Imp on the second row.
