That was essentially the plan for 2013 wasn't it with LDM and a few supplied T8 personnel?

That relationship turned sour early on in the season, from memory.

Due to money and other elements.

Sorry, post was edited as memory was foggy.

For some reason, I recall the car going to Nissan for repairs but I cannot confirm this. A couple of the LDM cars have been repaired everywhere except for their place of construction. JFS, and GRM included.

That was the deal and then Roland allowed him to shift to DJR for a better car, not by much though. Ended his partnership with Roland in 2015, bit of a mistake I suppose given what happened afterwards into 2016.

And he still hasn't got a good enough team to show what he can do. As I said, DJR weren't in their best form and LDM was just being LDM. Walkinshaw is going completely backwards. Scotty has the talent, just not the equipment to be successful. Put him even in an Erebus car or GRM and we will see him show his true potential, his career so far has jammed by bad luck. Looking back on his DNF luck, 3 accident have been his fault, in his debut year too (which is to be expected when learning), the rest was either someone else's crash that caught him or mechanical failures. He is on the improve, and I think with him in a bad car for so long, when he goes up he will show a lot of promise in a better car due to learning how to drive something bad.

I've heard his attitude is quite damaging and he's very difficult to work with. The hsv might be a bit of a dog but he's still quite a lot slower than Courtney.

I have heard Courtney is, but not Scotty. Fabian said to someone at the Gold Coast event last year that he was happy with the team(mate) chemistry but they just weren't on the pace

yet Walkinshaw kept JC over Garth...so someone must like him.

In other news can anyone find a spot for Stanaway next year? I'd love to see him full time but are we relying on Bright stepping down? Any other way forward?

Several options, according to some.

1 - Replacing Bright.
2 - Replacing Kean in Super2.
3 - An expanded 2-car PMM team, alongside ADP.

Would he not be considered over qualified for Super2 though? (In a business/driving career sense, not the Super2 rules)

Probably more depends on dollars and seats.

Garth did no good by whinging about the chassis, Ryan's arrogance has shown last year and this year that he dislikes a driver complaining about a bad chassis. James is lucky he signed a contract last year, or to a degree, unlucky.

Garth would be glad he left for GRM

Can we go with option 2, Kean is no real hope. I gave him some slack in my opinion to get used to the car, but surely he is used to it now. All I have seen by Kean has been crashes constantly

I'd say Stanaway would be a good chance for Super 2, Wildcard entries and an Enduro seat with PRA for 2018 then assuming a successful year an option to go full time in 2019.

PRA are fast finding themselves in a position of too many hot young shoes and not enough seats.

Except Mr Kean brings the sponsorship to keep that car's (and Prodrive's) wheels turning. You seem to miss the commercial reality of the sport.

Assuming the Rusty French Racing thing isn't happening of course, to fracture the prodrive operation..

PRA need to ask the question of how much he is costing compared to how much he is brining in. He may bring in a certain amount, but how much does it cost to repair his car. Stenaway could pick the backing up. Fullwood had backing, yet they go with Kean. Le Brocq had backing.

Deals at that level, with those kinds of teams, are usually cost plus.

Mr French apparently has a fully functional race workshop, more than capable of running a multi car Supercar program. There are literally dozens of race cars in or around that site already, prepared by RFR full time staff.

There has allegedly been LOTS of chat about disunity/upset in the prodrive ownership group.

The new piece of information is the RFR limited edition Black & Gold Mustangs available through Mr Lorbek. Product in direct competition arguably to the Tickford branded similar products.

There is said to be a budget hole at PRA at the end of each season, requiring the team owners to allegedly kick the tin from their own pockets in order to balance the books for the season.

It may not be a coincidence that Skye Sands brandine is creeping in over the prodrive cars, I mean if the bloke is paying the shortfall bills anyway, putting the brand on the cars is some offset there.

It looks weird. It smells weird. It may actually be weird.

Or not. Who knows.
