Lola T 70 Mk3 Coupe

As my other post lists my research request for information on the Lola T70 MK3B i will now add my LolaT70 MK3 Coupe.

SL73/101 67 Racing car show vehicle, this car was used to homologate the T70 into Group 4. Surtees/Hobbs fitted with Aston Martin engine.

SL73/102-Sid Taylor
SL73/103-John Mecom
SL73/104-John Mecom
SL73/105-Mike De Udy
SL73/106-John Mecom
SL73/107-John Mecom
SL73/108-John Mecom
SL73/109-John Mecom
SL73/110-Carl Hass/John Mecom
SL73/111-Yongue Rosqvist (Sweden)
SL73/112-Epstein/Hawkins
SL73/113-Max Wilson fitted BRM engine
SL73/114-John Mecom
SL73/115-Carroll Shelby
SL73/116-to Japan
SL73/117-James Garner
SL73/118-Schmidlin-Wanger
SL73/119-USA/ Peter Revson?
SL73/120-Carl Hass
SL73/121-Team Surtees 'Aston Engine'

There are some grey areas,
1) Was John Mecom the US importer ? Hes had a lot of cars.
2) SL73/116 Who had this car in Japan?
3) SL73/119 Was this car originally driven by Peter Revson

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Carl Haas is Lola importer why does his name not appear on the list until late down the lists?
Japan had only 2 Mk3 cars imported 116 & 130

That was also what i thought i know Hass was THE Lola importer, so who was Mecom?

The information on my original post comes from John Starkey s Book ,but the Japanese car only says went to Japan no other information.

As i have seen your post on the main forum there does seem to be some Subdefuge? regarding the use of wrong plates on cars proporting to be something they may not be.
All this adds to the confusion.

I personally do not trust his comments some are correct but you have a hard time with getting the info back then cars change hands people move
cars where crashed rebuilt/scrapped and then the queires start!!
today with the internet we can get 4 people on the case coming up with info found in their notes form the race meeting or race reports to confirm many things
What ar eyou specifically seeking info on cars in general or 1 particular chassis

John Mecom was the Lola importer to the US before Carl Hass. I think Hass became the primary importer sometime around 1968.

John Starkey's T70 book has some errors. I think he's publishing a new book. I hope the errors are addressed in the new version.
