They have a lot going for them compared to the two most recent entries to F1.
They have the money, and the resources...heck, remember the Toyota Rally team they closed down to start up the F1 team? BAR and Stewart did not have the best base to start of with when they entered...all toyota needs is some competent drivers... |

Would be interesting. |

Gees MF, Ukyo is going to be a busy boy when you tell him what to do....how many people has been sent out to bash so far?
Minardi cheat all the time, just that when the other teams cheat, they usually go faster |

Have you seen the latest article by The Mole @ ITV-F1.com? The guy claims that Toyota are purchasing F1 technology from Peugeot through a thrid company called Asia Motors or some such, in exchange for rallying stuff. Apart from that, their "spies" seem to be wandering around the paddock dressed up as fans, taking pictures of anything that might be of interest to their F1 programme. This is turning into a bit of a crime-novel, don't you think?

Toyota will not be looking for an immediate success in F1, they will take the same tack as they did in CART. They are not in it for the short term, they are intersested in the long haul.

BMW needs their results now. After their market reversals with Rover they need something to placate the shareholders. Toyota, being a very Japanese firm, will take the typical Oriental outlook on things. They have time, they have money, it will come to them.

I like the Spy Novel aspects of this-whre's Bob Judd when you need him.
Honestly, I suspect that Toyota's arrival in F1 will be no more succcessful than any other new teams has been. Its a tough sport and the learning curve is steep, even new organizations of experienced personel struggle-witness BAR. Toyota will be enjoying the back of the grid with Minardi in 2002 |
