Carel Godin de Beafort drove all his races in a factory Porsche car he bought(he had his own team), most of those race where at Zandvoort.

and De Groot and Doornbos??

if they are more talented than Jos than why could't they win a formula 3 title or the Marlboro Masters??

I have the answer: they are less talented, FARR less talented.

and Doornbos does'nt even need the money from the Dutch sponsors, he already has his fathers company to sponsor him
(http://www.doornbos.nl/ , that's why Robert is sponsored by Komatsu)

a Dutch newwspaper reports that one of the conditions in the contract Jordan presented to Jos that he would'nt drive the Belgian GP at Spa, he would be replaced by Bas Leinders for that race.(say what!?!?!?!) and even while Jos would have brought almost twice the sponsormoney he brought at Minardi the salary EJ offered was more than half what paul Stoddart had payed Jos past season.

And all this coming from reliable sources

1 of 2 things here. This is all made up BS.

Or, someone leaked this (no prizes for guessing). If its the latter, Eddie was very smart not to get mized up with these losers.

Perridon said on Dutch TV that he is counting on Jos getting in during the season when a team is somehow in need af a replacement. He feels Jos would be on top of any replacementslist because he is a good driver (well...) and he has money behind him. He was eager enough to drop some names and thus he dropped McLaren, B*A*R and Jaguar (which he can't pronounce...).

McLaren have Wurz. BAR have Davidson. Jaguar have Wirdheim, and chose Wilson above Verstappen last year. None of them would be dumb enough to waste their time with Jos. Any team taking on a pay-driver midseason would be showign itself up to have been poorly budgeted in the first place - in 1994 this was commonplace, but F1 has moved on quite a bit from those days.

The leaks and public slatings that Jos and Trust have been behidn in recent years are a disgrace. Private contract details should surely remain private. These guys are a very ugly throwback, and we're better off without them. Maybe you Jos-devotees can start supporting someone rather more capable.

Sources at Jordan have indicated to AUTOSPORT that Trust refused to back down on any of its demands, and it was this inflexibility that stymied the deal. The source said: "Their outrageous demands just could not be met."

Really? What could you blame on Jordan? It was Perridon who blurted out to the press that a deal was about done giving everyone the impression Jos was in. The reality was that Eddie was not at all done with driver-shopping. Verstappen & Co. simply underestimated Jordan's financial situation. They came in thinking Jordan was obliged to meet their demands because Jordan couldn't do anything than accept the cash. If that was the case, Verstappen & Co. would indeed have a strong position in the negotiations, a position that would justify high demands. The position Verstappen & Co. were in turned out to be not as strong as they'd hoped. They made the biggest mistake by maintaining their additude as though it was a strong position, and simply overestimated themselves where they underestimated Jordan. At the end, it turns out not Verstappen & Co but Eddie Jordan is calling the shots, and Eddie is offering next to nothing, implying that he doesnt need Trust nor Jos as bad as Verstappen needs Jordan. And that's the end of that.

On Dutch TV Perridon put it all down to Rothengatter and Eddie Jordan not getting along on the personal side. How ludicrous is it to imply that a deal fells through for that sole reason?

Been saying this all along. There was a deal to be done if EJ needed the money that badly but he doesnt, which logically (should) leave us to believe that he has other offers on the table from B&H or another driver that will bring equivelent funds.

If he don't needs Trust's money and doesn't want Jos why still negotiating, be a man and say: No I don't want your money and driver.

Perridon got a couple of months to get a deal, but he couldn't, so he must not blame Rothengatter for the debacle.

Maybe the positive aspect of the end of Verstappen's F1 career is that it leaves space for other Dutch talents like v/d Garde, Meijer and Albers to become the next Dutch F1 driver.

Eddie did want Trusts money, but under his terms. They couldn't come to an agreement, so no deal. Whats wrong with that?

...or Timo Glock in German races to make probable Deutsche sponsors happy.

It seems that Eddie Jordan, in a cash-strapped team, could manage to have more than two drivers racing in his team this year. Heidfeld can remain as a lead driver, and the second car could be given to a driver (most probably Giorgio Pantano) that could get out of the seat in any case of "renting" of the second car on favour of a pay-(or sponsor-compatible)-drivers. Timo Glock is the favourite to be the third Jordan driver.

Indeed, website Italiaracing confirmed that Pantano will be the second Jordan F1 driver, and he will test the car next Monday at Jerez... But I didn't see echo of this new on another website.

I hope that Pantano could manage to race an entire (or almost-entire) season in F1 for Jordan this season (Why he will continue in F3000???).

Hehehe, there is no way that this will happen with any of the above mentioned teams.

The fella in charge of Trust is proberbly looking to save his (company's) money whilst putting a good spin on things.

Wasnt one of Jordan's ideas for this year to run with a local livery for each race? Does that mean 18 different drivers for the 2nd Jordan??? (Yes I know the regulations preclude this, but you just never know...)
