Finding sufficient marshals is a start. And the infrastructure of the circuit needs tending.

Hope those advertising camping, hospitality etc for the Classic on the earlier date eventually wake up to the fact! |

I see tickets for the Le Mans Classic go on sale tomorrow- 53 Euros for a weekend spectator pass (excluding grandstands). Good value for 3-days entertainment.

I noticed that entry for Retromobile was only €16, which am sure is good value compared with UK shows. |

Thanks Tim, I lived on snacks last visit for that very reason!
Nurburgring Oldtimer is now listed on the official 'ring website as August 12-14, so a week later than originally stated somewhere! Good news that it now doesn't clash with Croft Nostalgia..... There is also another Histo meeting listed at the 'ring, the 'Historic Trophy Nurburgring', suggesting 'two, three and four wheel action'. Hope the middle amount of wheels is intentional! Date is June 17-19, same w/end as modern Le Mans, Monza CIH and HSCC Cadwell. |

Just discovered that the Historic Calendar stops at Jan 2016. I'll get it changed.

The modern Le Mans 24hr (June 18/19 2016) usually includes a 'Legends' support race, normally alternating between GpC and something older. Next year was to be the former's turn again- but according to their and Peter Auto calendars, they are racing at Silverstone Classic, not LM.
So any guesses as to which 'historics' are racing at La Sarthe in June? |

The older Legends race Mike:
Homage to cars from 1949 to 1968! Le Mans Legend is back at Le Mans on Saturday 13th June 2015. It will be one of the curtain-raisers before the Le Mans 24 Hours with a huge field of no fewer than 61 cars! Organised every two years this race highlights an era in the history of the greatest endurance race in the world. Following a recent change in the regulations cars from the years 1949 to 1968 will be able to take part. Thus, spectators can feast their eyes on legendary machines like the Ford GT40s, Porsche 908s and 910s, Alfa Romeo T33/2s and all the other famous GT and sports cars that raced at Le Mans during this period. No, think you'll find that was last year! I nearly fell for the same trick- you search for 2016 and the website gives you last year's races.....

And now I've re-read the piece, it gives last year's date as well....
The 'Legends' support race does give owners of eligible cars (usually must be of a type that has raced in period at LM) another chance to race the legendary circuit besides the Classic, which is always oversubscribed. Hard work though, with all the main race hullabaloo taking precedence, and from what I've seen and heard you don't get a lot of track time for your outlay. BUT, if you want to tick the LM box, I'm sure worth every considerable penny..... |

Can't see them, but no matter.
OK, attempt 2 at posting the Formula Junior FIA Championship Lurani Trophy dates. First seems to have got lost in cyberspace.... April 15-17 Hockenheim. No longer called the Jim Clark Memorial meeting for some reason. May 21/22 Pau Historique GP. June 17-19 Monza Coppa Intereuropa August 12-14 Nurburgring Oldtimer. September 2-4 Zandvoort Historic GP October 7-9 Dijon 'Motors Cup'. There is a chance of one more date / event being added. UK FJ Championship dates are due to be announced this coming week.... |

The STCC or to use it's full title, Super Touring Car Challenge, dates are confirmed for 2016, running with HSCC for 4 of them.
April 30-May 2 Donington Historic Festival. July 2/3 Brands Hatch Superprix. July 29-31 Silverstone Classic. August 28/29 Oulton Park Gold Cup. September 10/11 Knockhill. This last event is the interesting one. Easiest to quote the info received- "The fifth and final event of the season is a special meeting that is all about Super Touring. It's at Knockhill and to be named the David Leslie Meeting. It will include practice, qualifying and 2 races, and has a FREE entry fee, and £150 to help with expenses for those that are registered and have supported the series in 2016." |

Ah Knockhill that's a track I've got to go back too . My mate won his one and only race there .He was mortified as the organisers took the winning garland back of him . Talk about tight scots no offence Colin and others

Official announcement of HSCC Race dates.
News from the Historic Sports Car Club Sunday 29 November 2015 HSCC 2016 calendar to start at Castle Combe The Historic Sports Car Club has unveiled its 2016 racing calendar, which will open with a special two-day meeting at Castle Combe (16/17 April). The new event at the Wiltshire track will be a focal point of the club’s 50th anniversary season and will celebrate the very first HSCC race in 1966 when a group of 1950s sports cars contested the inaugural Griffiths Formula race at Castle Combe. The balance of the season includes high-profile events on the Silverstone and Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuits as well as major historic festivals at Croft and Oulton Park. Season highlights include the International Trophy on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit (21/22 May), the Autosport three-hour meeting at Snetterton (4/5 June), the Wolds Trophy meeting at Cadwell Park (18/19 June), the Historic Super Prix on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit (1/2 July), the Croft Nostalgia Festival (6/7 August) and the Oulton Park Gold Cup (27-29 August). One-day events will be held at Brands Hatch Indy (24 September) and the traditional Silverstone Finals (15 October). HSCC members will also have the opportunity to race at Spa-Francorchamps during the Classic Six-Hour meeting (16-18 September). In addition, the HSCC will again be organising the racing element of several key events, including the Donington Historic Festival (30 April-2 May), the Silverstone Classic (29-31 July) and the Walter Hayes Trophy (5/6 November). “We’ve got an excellent calendar for 2016 and I’m particularly pleased to be going to Castle Combe to mark the club’s 50th anniversary,” said HSCC Chief Executive Officer Grahame White. “We’ll announce more details about the Castle Combe event over the coming weeks.” The provisional HSCC calendar is: Sat/Sun 16/17 April Castle Combe (50th Anniversary) Sat/Sun 21/22 May Silverstone GP (International Trophy) Sat/Sun 4/5 June Snetterton (Autosport 3-Hours) Sat/Sun 18/19 June Cadwell Park (Wolds Trophy) Sat/Sun 1/2 July Brands Hatch GP (Historic Super Prix) Sat/Sun 6/7 August Croft (Nostalgia Weekend) Sat-Mon 27-29 August Oulton Park (Gold Cup) Sat 24 September Brands Hatch Indy Sat 15 October Silverstone National (Finals Day) For more details about the HSCC, please visit www.hscc.org.uk -ends- For more information, contact the HSCC on 01327 858400, by fax to 01327 858500 and by e-mail to office@hscc.org.uk For media enquiries, please contact Paul Lawrence on 01952 510382. |

I've got a Group 2 BMW 535, which we ran at Spa this May.
Last year MRL ran the first round of their HTCC series at Donington Historics, so I assume that will happen again next year. Then two weeks later is Spa Classic, followed by Dijon (both Peter Auto HTC events). Just means a six week holiday away from the Aussie winter... Any other HTC competitors on here? |

I think your assumption will prove correct. I was at Spa this May for the Classic, but not with the Touring Cars. Which BMW was yours? I did run my Gp2 Escort in 2013 at the meeting, it was great fun in the dark!
Masters have now published a basic list of where they're going in 2016- April 9/10 Zolder (own meeting) May 28/29 Brands Hatch GP circuit (own meeting) July 2/3 Donington (own Meeting) July 29-31 Silverstone Classic August 12-14 Nurburgring Oldtimer September 2-4 Zandvoort September 16-18 Spa 6hrs October 15-16 Jarama The last meeting gives historic competitors 2 chances in 2016 to race at the circuit, with Peter Auto racing there at the beginning of the season! Thanks to a most reliable source, seems there are a couple of changes to HSCC 2016 calendar!
The Superprix at Brands will be 3 days, from 1-3 July. The one day Brands Indy meeting in September is now a week earlier, on Saturday 17th. Not sure how this will affect or be affected by Spa 6hrs being on same w/end- there is usually a race for HSCC competitors in Belgium, open or closed wheel on alternate years. Can't remember which is due in 2016! |
