I have some Good news and bad news

The good news is that the weather forcast for this afternoon is fine. The bad news is that we could have showers.
The good news is that cars on the odd numbered grid positions will start on the dry line . The bad news is that the cars on the even numbered grid positions could start on the wet line . The good news is that cars in position 1, 3 5, and 7 could actually end up ahead of the car in number 2 position . This was very aparent during the start of the V8 saloon car race, when I thought the car on number 2 position had actually broken down, as it was so slow off the line.
During the support races, it was clear that all the cars came through on the left (facing the front) side of the start line, the side of the odd numbered grid positions. So, depending on who you support, this may be good or bad news. The current temperature is only around 14 degrees C, and the humidity is very high, and there are chances for showers (this is Melbourne , after all).
For Queenslanders, don't forget the race starts at 1 o'clock and not 2 o'clock.

So this would be bad news for Michael and Montoya won't it? No more superb starts, and Ralf could get his chance?

Wonder what the Renault launch control is like, will they still have those blistering starts thatthey had last year (as bennetton)?

This COULD affect things ALOT! I wonder if the even numbered guys are out there in the warm up trying to dry the wet line!haha
Renault can't have those starts they had at the end of last year. The fia have closed up the loophole in the way they were reading the jump start detector loops.

Did you guys notice that MSch switched off his TC before the formation lap and lit up his tyres to try to dry out the right hand lane and also to lay some rubber there? That was good thinking.

I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) - but I thought that doing the big burnout in your starting slot was against the rules.

Seems to me that there was a big stink about this at some point last year.

Like I said, I could be wrong on this.

Nope, Ralf took his luck and bet on his skill with the usual result.

Practice starts around the race circuit are against the spirit of the rules, but you leave your grid slot however you like

...Passing Michael in the process and taking the lead had he not been blocked by the moron known as Barrichelo. Tell the whole tale or not at all.

I think he should work more on his skills to save the entire car instead of concentrating only in saving his engine....LOL

I think you're right on this point.
Of the last 18 GP's, he only finished 10!

Must be very bad, the only drivers who did even worse were Bernoldi, Irvine, Montoya and Trulli.

Maybe I should have e-mailed the first post of this thread to Ferrari before the start.
