That is really sad. Thank you for posting the links to it although it certainly makes it an awful weekend of bad news. Not that old and a sad way to go. RIP.

Very sad to hear. Maybe not the best way to remember him but I'll never forget that crash at the 1985 Austrian GP. R.I.P. Andrea De Cesaris.

So sad, although never reaching the heights his talent suggested, he was such an integral part of the sport in the '80s and '90s.

I missed his era - my F1 journey started in 1993/94 but I have seen some of the races from that time since.
RIP Andrea. ETA: My main memory of the man. Very lucky to even survive that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA1qAmz30mw Last edited by Nicholosophy; 5 Oct 2014 at 23:29. |

When I started to follow F1 regularly, he was a Brabham driver. Had jolly knowing for his following Rial / Dallara / Jordan / Tyrrell / Sauber days.
What a disgraceful day, when De Cesaris suffered so many F1 accidents and died in a motorbike traffic accident after an horrific crash that mourns F1 these moments. RIP Andrea. |
