I prefer the circuit as it was when I first saw it in 1967 - primitive loos or not. |

I don't like change as much as the next man, but I think we have to admit that the "evolution" of the event has been impressive. Whilst it might be more commercially and compliance driven now the event if far more professional (both as a race and a place to spectate). I do long for the old circuit and will always have memories of sitting on straw bales above the armco on the mulsanne, but I wouldn't say the circuit has been ruined as a result of change - just an evolution that is a sign of our times. Besides, without change we would have nothing to compare memories too and that would become boring pretty quickly. (NB - I will change my tune on the above IF(!) Porsche have blocked any of my view from MY grandstand!!) |

It's the Dunlop to Esses section that has been ruined, not the circuit. Changes made purely to adjust the Bugatti circuit.
For the rest changes have been made to accommodate ever faster cars - fair enough if we take that attitude. The old circuit, like blue remembered hills remains The land of lost content, ... The happy highways where I went And cannot come again |

Well that does seem to indicate to me that the plans for those two to be there next year are advanced

Le Mans 1955 disaster homage
On Saturday 30th May at 15.00 the ACO will be holding "A homage to the victims of the 1955 disaster at the site of the accident"
I assume by the small plaque opposite the pits |

I think Porsche will show their hand and go for it… about Audi and Toyota they will stay cool (Toyota have to be careful about the Tub´s).
About Nissan (like Darren said in a interview) they will do as many laps they can… |

Of course, because the Rebellion will have similar straight line but can go around corners.
ByKolles wont even reach 6 hours judging by the previous WEC races, which is a shame because last year they were reliable. |

I'm going to go against the grain slightly and say I think Nissan will be comfortably ahead of the LMP2s and privateer LMP1s, but behind the other factories. Basically, quicker than most people seem to think they will be. |

Current weather forecast is predicting 50% chance of rain around 1pm for the test day. We are still 5 days out so that may change.

Well, apart from those reserves and LMP3's just doing the test day, everyone else is also setting up for the race too. A few will just have to extend their garages once said reserves/LMP3's have gone home.
Only 2 1/2 working days left till we head down for the test weekend |

It could still be the precursor to something else. McLaren didn't have to organise this demo and it's obviously a big enough deal for them to bring some hospitality along.
Let's hope it's enough for the big wigs to green-light something. Or if the rumours are to be believed they might already have done? |

Rumours? I must spent more time on the Sportscar & GT racing part of this forum, because I've completely missed any McLaren rumours!!! Got my attention though!

I wouldn't get too excited at this stage. They've been referenced in a couple of rumourey editorial-type pieces. I think the last one was on Motorsport-Total. It's somewhere in the news and rumours thread.

Good news. At least we'll get to see some representative performances. Hopefully.
