Yes I do know it's flat out but he did it on his own, he set the 6th fastest time, not bad for your cup debut no matter how well your team mates did with the same engine. I now have NASN so I am looking forward to seeing Sam and JV Cup debut |

What happened to JV at the start? - went right to the back.

I'm following the live timing too.
Tried to sign up to track pass or whatever their live service is called, but my Non US credit card isn't good enough for them. Jacques up to 30th.. the boy is doing good, be up to Montoya soon |

JPM is driving a good race, maybe his best JV as expected. Gordon is starting to move.

They seem to be running single file now (from what I can tell from live timing), it's all spread out.

Yes, they have been single file up front for a while. I don't think that will change until the final laps. Sorenson has been up there with JPM all race, and Stremme is in 11th. This could be key at the end of the race. The only other teammates up front right now are the Penske drivers. Stewart is alone.

Damn this is tense and I can't even see anything.
JV is on the Talladega yo-yo. Oh BTW, what happened to Raines, he suddenly dropped back from the lead some laps back to about mid-pack? He just get shuffled out and lose the draft? And Jimmie Johnson pops up in sixth. |

Seems Stewart got shuffled back. Penske 1-2. Could be ominous.

JV hit the wall and was slow after that. Hopefully the crew can fix the damage under this caution and perhaps JV can come home with a top 10. JPM is up to 3rd, behind the Penske drivers. I am not sure what happened to Raines.
Johnson, Gordon, Mears, Bowyer, and a few others adopted a strategy Dale Jarrett and a few others began in 2001 at plate tracks: lag back away from the big pack in a small pack for 3/5 or 2/3 of the race. The theory is they will have enough time to avoid the wreck if they are far enough behind and that they can easily catch the pack if necessary late in the race, even if there is not a caution. That is why Johnson suddenly charged to the front. He always had a good car but was not racing for most of the day. |

Yes, I have noticed them do it in the races I've watched over the past two or three years. To me it seems more risky in theory but it obviously works a treat!
Wish Sorenson was sitting in fourth. Hadn't noticed the great big bloody yellow flag icon on the screen there. |

JPM, barring the usual Restrictor plate odds, has a legitimate shot at winning the race.
