is the Nissan the same car that Graham Coombes competed the 2001 Formula Saloons in ?, if so is and what in will Graham be racing in 2002 ? and will it be in Formula Saloons.

Also for all of us racing dreamers what would it cost for a race in a Honda in FS ?

Nissan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
if my information / knowledge is correct the Nissan engines from 96 put out about 300bhp and 97 cars 316bhp, and the newer 99 cars up to 330bhp, the 99 hondas I now believe put out about 330bhp.

Is it possible that these types of engine could be opened up to a larger capacity and therefore bhp without any showing from the outside ?, if I remember rightly Matt Neals Nissan engine was removed and had to be stripped down after winning the £250k at Donnington to ensure that all was ok, glad to see that it was !!!!!, so how do series police this without engines having to be stripped down ?

Simple awnser, they dont, you're pretty close to the bhp figures and the engines can be bored out to about a 2.2,with different crank and rods adding about 30 bhp, this would cost about 10k which is probably what deters people, but the money is not really there at club level to police engines without an official protest being made, there have been a couple of very fast cars in a straight line,we just have to hope they play by the rules im afraid..

Isn't there a device, nicknamed a puffer, that screws into the spark plug hole and enables scrutineers to check capacity of an intact engine.

David
Tell me more, I've not heard of such a device other than a telescoping bore gauge and sometimes then as long as the spark plug hole is somewhere near central to the bore a decent vernier can check the stroke. Any device that would save costs for checking cc would I believe be welcome to competitors & scrutineers alike.
