looks Good
Any reason if a deal could be struck why they could not race at the rock?

Lots of reasons,
but the most important one is our chassis aren't strong enough to race at over 160mph

Thank you very much! Kinda made up for not winning the first heat. I trust Bill's car is ok? He looked like there was a problem in his second race. It's interesting you bought this thread up actually because the question Minicross put up here came up whilst we were at Lydden. It would appear i am wrong (as usual!) and the cars would run at Rockingham if a deal could be done.

I'm seriously considering doing a few races next year in this - I spoke to Tony Roots years ago but never acted but seeing them at Lydden told me that I want a piece of that action.

I picked up a leaflet that says 1100 euros a race meeting - whst extras are there that need to be paid? licence needed? helmet standard? Cos right now its not a lot more than I'm spending now

There are no extras but you pay for what you break. You will need fire resistant undies and either a neck brace or HANS system. But we have neck braces you can borrow if you haven't got one. There is no minimum licence requirement providing you are fast enough in rookie training. You will be fine with a BS type crash helmet.

It's well worth it believe me. I have had great fun racing these cars at Lydden and doing the Warneton experience. Really nice people to get on with.
Don't bother with the Rock, at Lydden you can get sideways and it looks brilliant!

They looked mega at Lydden - forget the rock - how about Mallory?

Ok what are the damage bills like?

Neck brace - just one of those round the neck things?

How hard would it be to get up to speed in rookie training (I've raced various things with ineptitude over the years - currently I'm playing in Vee)

You would have to work very hard to get a lot of damage at Warnerton. They don't break easy. There is a parts price list on www.camso.com i think, but i wouldnt worry too much.

One of those round things, yes.

Some people pick it up straight away others take a little longer. Most are fast enough to race after a day in the car. If you wanted to do it all in one go i would recommend doing rookie training on the Friday then, if you need further instruction, you can get it on Saturday and if you don't then you can just treat Saturday as a practice session. Then race on Sunday!

You will be fine, the cars pretty much drive themselves!

We should be racing at Mallory in 2008. Watch this space.

If you guys want to come to the Rock - get Roland to contact the circuit and come for Motorfest 2008.

Maybe you could run a "World Tour" and do Lydden , Mallory, and Rockingham.

However, you'll need to work on your settings for the superspeedway, it's a lot different to short oval settings (point & squirt).

Mallory was on the "shopping list" for 2008 for us. Who knows......

And Lydden has been mentioned!!

Our issue is that we can't "race" on non-FIA circuits. Where you can if invited...

Rob.

Let us know if you do, Minicross424, because there will probably be quite a large after party that you might like to go to!

Rockingham is just an idea we threw in the air, i doubt anything would come of it.

Some good racing it was at Lydden, Kelvin.
But (maybe) a silly question: weren't the cars "a lot" noisier than last year?

If it's done at Motorfest, then you won't have to pay. The circuit runs it, Incarace & Spedeworth co-promote it, and we race for 0-pence.

If it's a normal BRSCC meeting, then yes, the thumbscrews come out....

Like I said, get "The Man" to talk to them.

You could run on the "short oval" (uses the start straight, and the hot pitlane)

I don't think so. We would want the big oval and we wouldn't come unless we had more cars and all our drivers agreeing to it. I think we got about 18 cars now and we would really want about 25 - 30 to run there.

The Schedule for the 13th of October will be as follows:

Gates open at 10:00
Racing starts 10:45
Hot Rods 20 laps
Super Karts 8 laps
Camso V8 25 laps
13:15 the Hot Rods go out again for 20 laps, then V8s for 25 then the Super Karts for 8.
Theeeeeeeen, Group 1 of the Retro Ypres 24 hr Rally do their thing which i think is a timed session on the track.
at 15:00 the V8s will hold our 35 lap final.
15:30 Group 2 of the rally cars go out then at 17:00 we are having a V8 feature race, the rules of which we dont know yet. Maybe points for how many cars you pass or something. then Hot rods and Karts again to wind down your evening. There is a school day on the Friday but i think it is nearly booked up. As are the hire cars.

My mind is 99% made up to do a number of camso rounds - does anyone run no.26? if not please keep it free!

New of racing at Mallory plus Lydden basically seals it for me if they run at the Rock its a deal. Warneton of course I will be up for as I save about half the cost by stocking up on booze! (I also get a number of free ferry crossings a year)

Only 2 factors may stop me.

Cash - I think money is going to be fairly tight until mid August but I should have enough to do at least a couple of rounds

Time - my work may see me travel over the atlantic more often so that will define things.
