Moffat just squeezed fastest in free practice, by 0.015 sec from Lloyd. No sign of Palmer......

Moffat’s team-mate Derek Palmer missed the second session of the day as the team are rushing to get a replacement injector installed in the Alfa Romeo Giulietta ahead of qualifying at 16:25 BST.

Moffat almost got pole with a cracking 1.01.008 as the flag fell, but Lloyd finished his lap with a 1.00.805 to snatch it. May not be many cars but could be some close racing...... |

Well for a first race, that was excellent. The first third was especially good fun.
The time penalties will get old very quickly, however. |

Decent first race that. The early midfield scrap was intense.
Disappointed for Moffat to lose 2nd ... but at least it proves he was trying! |

Maybe no penalties for Moffat. Live timing showed him second.
Yes, Moffat second: https://twitter.com/TouringCarTimes/...40056191242241 |

Good racing, low number of spectators from what i seen but it's only the start
Obviously BTCC remains and will remain the top series but TCR has good potential also. Perfect race from Dan Lloyd, very quick driver. Good race also for Taylor and it was a good debut for the swedish driver Bäckman I hope Moffat will take a revenge |

Spectator numbers are about what I expected for a BRSCC event, they never get much of an attendance. It's a shame because there has been some legitimately great racing today.
Race length is fine, just need some more cars on the grid. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk |

So after much scepticism, which was perhaps not entirely unjustified, it has finally happened and for people saying it was a good means it has potential

Devastated for Moffat after a great show in both races, retiring with two laps to go.......some good racing throughout the field, really. Jessica Backman looking really racy, as was her brother of course
Excellent performance from Lloyd. |

I rather enjoyed that. Here's hoping they can keep up the grid numbers - as all the 'guest' entries looked handy racers.
Dan Lloyd is a class-act. |

well that was... ok
wasnt amazing but some good close racing, only seemed a handful of spectators which was a shame. it seemed at times to be taking too long at 30 mins possibly due to the size and quality of grid. its hard not to try and compare to BTCC but it was solid and id probably watch next time too |

I only remembered that this was available to watch on-line in time for race 2.
Understandably the coverage seemed a bit lame compared to ITV4's BTCC, but the racing seemed quite good and obviously would have been even better with more cars. As others have said, with this number of cars 30 minutes did seem like too long, but on a positive note, the balancing of performance seemed to work well, allowing different cars to be quicker in different places, which does generate genuine overtaking opportunities. |

the question is if they can attract more entries in the next race , it's vital that they get momentum going

Both races were fairly enjoyable - I see Dan Lloyd is trying to get a full season package sorted so if that happens then maybe we could call the champion already?
Hope the grid size stays pretty constant, I've got my eye on going to the Castle Combe round as I think TCR around there will be one hell of a sight. |

Probably this year there will be a lot of come&go from the driver side. However the next race is in the mid of May so there is plenty of time to search new entries.
14-15 stable entries would be a good achievement this year |
