Apparently he's got two Aston Martin Vanquishes too...
...presumably he bought the second one cos he couldn't believe how bad the build quality was - now he knows they're all like that That'll teach him to buy Fords... Last edited by garcon; 22 Jul 2003 at 12:27. |

Well, I'm afraid the slippery slope started when you slapped me with that wet fish last night... If it's any consolation, I am quite jealous about that green Ford Mustang... |

My daily driver is the most sensible car I've ever had; a 1995 Toyota Tecel base model. Only a 4 speed and drum brakes in the rear. All I've ever done to the car is replace the battery one time and change the oil every 3000 miles. Boring, but superemely reliable. Still on the original clutch and brakes. Another car I owned that was very reliable was an 1981 rear wheel drive Mazda 626. For the most part, I've owned Italian cars; mainly Alfas

Here we go now.
Vectra SRi V6 - lovely engine, shame about the steering and gearbox. Rover 400 - comfy, quiet and DULL Rover 216 - liked it so much I bought one. Toyota Corolla - better than I thought, but the all grey interior (even the steering wheel) made me think I was inside a cloud. Proton 1.5 MPi- surprisingly nippy. Fierce brakes. Steering totally unconnected to the front wheels. Ford Focus - a nice drive, but SLOW. In fact, pathetic for a 1.8. The heated windscreen was like driving behind a net curtain. Fiat Brava - not bad, not good. Can't remember much about it. So Fiat are now building Japanese cars? Mitsubishi Charisma - it didn't have any. Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin - Bloody awful. Unstable and a bone jarring ride. The only car in which I have felt unsafe. Fiat Multipla - wierd, just wierd. And it broke down and left me stranded. Ford Mondeo (new type) - over-rated by the press. Very ordinary in my eyes. Peugeot 406 - rather nice. Handles like a much smaller car. Honda Accord - again, rather nice, for an old man's car. Minis (not the BMW)- I've driven all types. Brilliant. There are many others too, but I can't remember them all! Last edited by davemorganfan; 23 Jul 2003 at 09:11. |

I have driven way too many mundane cars to list, let alone remember them all.
But I have hillclimbed or motorkhana-ed (marked with *) the following: Volvo S40 *Volvo 440 (not as bad as you'd think) Volvo 850 *Volvo 240 *Holden Barina (Suzuki Swift one) Holden Calais (don't ever try this) Toyota Seca I think that's it that I've properly competed in. Though the Holden Gemini Diesel was...um...interesting to try on a run. |
