i don't get why gutierrez' performance was worth trumpeting. it's a test track, where the rookies all have experience (as per someone elses post on this thread already). he drove as he should be expected to. hulkenberg got caught up in the pitstop shenanigans, and otherwise was also on for a reasonable finish. fair play though, he wasn't very far off a point at all.

Yeah, it wasn't great, but I've been critical of him (i.e. I think Sauber were daft to drop Kobayashi), so I thought I'd show some support for his result. Plus, although Alonso was good, I knew he'd get a load of votes.

Well if it means I don't have to vote for Alonso, then I'll do it! And Gutierrez has been so rubbish so far this year, nice for him to turn it around. I like the underdog vote.

Now we just need Bottas to show his true form. Though he should never have jumped from gp3 to f1.

I suppose Kimi was good too though and deserving of DOTR.

Kimi for running a seamless race and a great pass over Vettel. RBR is now whining over the tires getting Bernie involved. Now compounds are changing for Silverstone. I hope things don't go like later in the 2012 season where the tires were lasting a long time causing boring races.

Anyway, 3 seconds and a first.....hugely consistent. I hope it keeps up.

disagree on bottas, he's doing fine against a flailing maldonado. and when someone's flailing, the important bit is to just keep going, keep doing your job well, and proving that there's pace in the car when the stars align, the wind blows in a certain direction and when there's a full moon.
