Big Mark should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Formula 750 construction

Does anyone know if there is a book or plans to build a formula 750 car or formula vee?
Cheers
Mark

750 Racer

Hi Big Mark, fancy meeting you here!

Try the following title:

750 Racer by Peter Herbert and Dick Harvey

ISBN 1-85260-447-6

It doesn't have FULL plans but a lot of tech drawings of suspensions and steering mechanisms.

Au revoir.

a little question about formula vee, how is the front beam assembly atached to the chassis because it has the 'springs' inside it right? peaning it got to have something to pivit on?!?!? just a little confused with having never really seen one in the flesh

The front beam is attached by 4 large bolts and the spring inside controls the tension on the suspension arms ( i forgot what they are called ), the tension can be adjusted by turning that nut/allen key thing in the centre.

front beam

hope that helps

I'm afraid that there aren't any books on building a Formula Vee but it is easier than F750 because the suspension its all done for you. All you have to do is produce the chassis & bodywork. The most recebnt homebuilt Vee has been done by Charles Merrill - see RaceTech mag Aug/Sept 2004 or phone him to see it on 07838 376803

It may be possible to buy plans for a Darvi from Dick Harvey, which would save a huge amount of time if you're serious about building one.
