Redracer77 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Mst

Why do the organising clubs pay so much money to have MST do the timing if they can't even upload the results to the websites anymore. Early last year it was great with times uploaded within minutes of the race but now we get nothing......

I just checked the BSB times and they've uploaded this mornings' support race results already....seem to be doing fine for the bikes?

Redracer,
Remember that to get the results online they are uploading from the circuits via connections that may not work as well as the dedicated line that they would have at their main site.

Prepare to be disappointed guys, I hear the BRSCC is unhappy about paying the fees charged by MST, whose service includes posting the times on their website for the likes of you and me. Maybe they think it keeps spectators away!

Maybe the BRSCC have found someone considerably cheaper to do the same job?

You can find people who will do a timekeeping job considerably cheaper, but not the same job. You get what you pay for. Simple economics.

Absolutely right. And what you get can, in some circumstances, be complete rubbish.

I have been at a major international event where local time was agreed between me and the chief timekeeper on an ad hoc basis! And the rest of their performance was on that sort of level!

I also remember when we regularly used to have to hold up sessions “until the timekeepers were ready”. The advent of the technology (not transponders) which MST (or what became MST) introduced radically improved things.

Sure, organisers need to consider value for money, but, as long as we all want the service, then it is going to cost money.

Regards

Jim
