FIM Winners Game --> Catalunya

Fifth round of this game. Rules are:

----------------------------------------------

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP, whatever it is). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three differents games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Appart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

Example:

Let's suppose in Jerez you had put these guesses:
125 = Simoncelli, P.Nieto, Lai (you get 2.5 points for Simoncelli)
250 = Porto, Dovizioso (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Rossi (you get 3 points for Rossi)

We will do a final classification in the middle of the season. after that, we will evaluate how the game has gone, and in case it is OK, we will do another classification for the second part of the season.

I'm glad asha is here again, and David and Hazza are in time (soooorryyy for the last round, but it was rules )

In fact I don't need to miss any GP to get bad scores, I'm sure this time or very soon, I will mess my forecasting

Anyway, I'll try to fight with some dignity against the real might of Blue, Dani F and Saleen.

125cc: Kallio, Simoncelli, Pasini, Faubel
250cc: Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Stoner
MotoGP: Rossi, Gibernau

If I was in a riskier strategy, I surely would choose Rossi - Pedrosa,Lorenzo - Kallio, but I prefer a conservative approach by now...

Good fun for everyone!

Week after week people keep betting against Rossi... That strategy will work a few times a season at most guys!

I don't think you get 2 points anymore than I got 5 points last year where for two races running in the IRL where I picked the first 5 retirements...

Lol, believe it or not, when that crash happened I thought about that guess. I was writing down all the guesses while watching the races.

It had needed a huge catastrophe to make Hazza failing in the three categories, as he guessed no less than 11 riders (even more than me!)

It's a response to my fatefull "Edwards-Stoner-Talmasci" pick the round previously.

Consistancy is the key - I am the "Accumulator"

I'm also a sort of accumulator.

We , then, will be AB (Accumulator Brothers) and will fight against the Evil Empire of RFs (Risky Fellows) of gomick, asha and DavidStH, who want to win just with flukey guesses instead of subtle spread of points (alias "cowardice") , LOL.

What sad. I'm here working full time to have done all the details and scores of this round and I cannot get even a minute of glory with my clever remarks!

Now "seriously". Bleu, Dani F and SALEEN go on marching on as swiss clocks running over my poor person. A good day also for David and Ascii with their risky guesses.

Everyone got points, so no catastrophic results this time.

In terms of Championships, Bleu reigns in 125cc and 250cc, and Dani F goes on as the MotoGP wizard.

In the Total classification, of course Bleu is still the leader, and <<me>>, Dani F and SALEEN are not far away. These four are who (by now) chain regularly results, but it can still change before this Summer Cup ends!

I suppose marcus will end the "stickness" of this thread when he thinks people has seen the results.

We will meet for the next round! Thank you to everyone for playing here with a smile!

!REINSTATE my results for Italy! Then I'd be right in there.

I think whoever wins the 125cc guessing game is pretty good as that is wide open. Kallio has the best bike but topples off now and then and is patchy in form. Rossi is a no-brainer and Pedrosa is going to win over half the races this year too.

Roll on 'the next race'.
