2009 WPS Bathurst 12 Hour - The Race Thread

After just getting over the Bathurst 1000, Mount Panorama's attention turns to the Bathurst 12 Hour race meeting set down for late-February, 2009. This thread is open to people who wish to ask questions on the event, discuss class structures, rumours of entries, etc.
I also hope that people with only positive comments of this event contribute to this thread.

I have heard that Bob Pearson has been building and testing 3 brand new Evo 10's. Just how many are entered remains to be seen.

Looking forward to the 12 Hour next season. I am still not sure that February 20-22 is the ideal time for the event, but this is what we have for 2009 so I better get behind it.

Hopefully the stability of the event, with this being the 3rd running will translate into the Australian Manufacturers Championship.

Which brands will be likely to take outright honours in February?

Are there any new contenders for outright honours?

Just having a quick thought (people can shoot me down)
As well as the existing Evo IX and BMW 335i

The new ones may be Evo X, BMW 135i, and maybe just maybe an Audi TTS

i've added the TTS after reading "Motor's" latest PCOTY and checking out it's lap times of Wakefield. I know it maybe a long bow but hey wonders will never cease.

Hmmm, BMW 335i and Audi TTS? Does anybody else think that the price ceiling is too high, or am i just being a socialist?

Will we finally see an RX-8 compete in this race?

It looks more promising every wek. The expectation of 40+ cars and international interest has sky-rocketed this event since the 2008 event. Three Norwegian drivers are trying to put a deal together to compete in the race in Feburary.

Looking at the Mini Challenge Cars doing 2.31's they may well be on the money come February.. Mini on Pole would be good to see.. even if they are not your average CooperS

Hopefully will see plenty of diffferent cars, there's plenty of performance cars out there, one car I love to see race is the HSV W427, might be to expenisve but would be a weapon I think, especially if you had a gun driver.
A new FG F6 be good to.

After talking to the man himself, 10-10ths own racer, Adam Hughes might be racing in a Ford XR6 Turbo.
