Valsecchi quits Durango

http://www.crash.net/gp2/news/150901...s_durango.html

That might mean -Valsecchi (Renault RDD) to Barwa, Grosjean to Renault F1

the sniper has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Valsecchi replaces Grosjean: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77623

I bet Iaconelli will be in the car at Valencia. I look forward to the possibility of Marco Bonanomi making his GP2 debut later in the season.

italiaracing had a magnificent chain of rumours related to this one a month or so ago - they reckoned filippi would end up at durango, but it sounds like they had the wrong italian

Looks like the logical conclusion was reached shortly after you started this thread Milevy!!

Sound choice. Valsecchi in a properly set up car (no disrespect to Pinton's lot but they've only threatened ocasionally) could be a regular race winner no?

Bonanomi has done GP2 Asia the last 2 years on either a part of full time basis. I thought he's also undertaken some races in the main series before?

I think he's quite good but he must be having money troubles otherwise he'd have been on the grid in Barcelona in May?

Yeah, he has done some Asia series races but I don't count those as proper GP2 starts as even my my nan has done a couple of GP2 Asia races.

I don't think he's done anything in the main series though. He's done WSbR if that's what your thinking of, he literally flew in that championship.

I've heard it is may be slightly different, Valsecchi replacing Petrov, who goes to Renault and from next year it will be owned by some billion $ man from the north.

Er.... so who will replace Grosjean then?

Perez perhaps? I bet he'd go better with them than he has in an Arden car.....

Or do you mean that instead of Grosjean taking Piquet's drive, Petrov will be instead?

Where did you get this information ?

I heard only about Petrov being renault reserve driver since next race.
And Vitaly recently said that he is going to finish gp2 season.

Petrov replacing Piquet in Renault, with some Russian billioner buying out Renault, that's what I heard.
May be it's only for the reserve spot now for this season, but I doubt the Russian will buy the team and put Vitaly just as a stand-by reserve driver w/o any testing to do.
Btw, they have a Russian mobile operator as sponsor for several races now.

Yes, of course i live in russia and heard all rumours - this is true.(Usmanov buying renault stake, megafon mobile becoming title sponsor etc, Petrov and Grosjean pair in 2010). But for sure this will happen not this season.
By the way Briatore became Petrov new manager, that is the sign.

Yes, he is.

P.S. I mean something 100% happens there, but all Petrov supporters with his managers waiting now. Petrov said that he has contract, but not entirely happy with it. Also said that many things depends on where he will finish this gp2 season.
I wrote full story in silly season topic about week ago.
