Entrylist World Touring Car Championship 2005

Yesterday I made a list with all the teams and drivers who (maybe) compete in WTCC next season. See this list.

Have AutoDelta (3 or 4 cars?), BMW Team Deutschland, BMW Team Italy-Spain, BMW Team Great Britain (1 car with Andy Priaulx?) and SEAT Sport (3 or 4 cars?) officially confirmed they will compete in 2005?

If you have additions/remarks (with source) post them in this topic and I will add them to the list.

I thought Ford was only building/selling customer cars, they weren't going to field a Works team? Or perhaps a semi-works effort?

I think you can call it a semi-works team, somewhat like Abt in DTM was. The cars will be run by Hotfiel.

Proteam Motorsport had bought a second 320i to race in WTCC.

Will they enter as factory team or independent team?

You must have misinterpreted that. They will racing two or three cars, driven by experienced BTCC drivers in the first year. They will recruit 3 chinese drivers to give them the chance to learn touringcarracing on the background.

From Fords pressconference:

Quote:
We follow the development of the Super 2000 regulations with interest. We see this highly cost-effective category spreading all over the world and becoming even stronger, becoming the formula for a world championship from next year onwards.

There have been some rumours about Ford involvement in WTCC in 2005, but I can only confirm to you today that we are taking a look. Our engineers are developing a prototype touring car – based on the new Focus – that complies with the Super 2000 regulations. Down the road, this could allow our existing customer teams and new teams to compete in high-level touring car racing with affordable budgets and a competitive car.

That’s how we can best support the aspirational steps on our motorsport pyramid. As we move into the future, I think you’ll be seeing more examples of Ford leveraging its resources to develop competition cars for customers in a variety of motorsport categories.
According to Motorsport Aktuell Hotfiel will run the cars at his own responsibility, but with a little help from Ford.
You tell me if that is semi-works or privateer. It will probably run for the privateer championship, I guess.

I think that was merely a rumour. That said, Larini to Chevrolet has an air of "S***, I need a job!" about it, as Larini had said that he'd never really liked or adjusted to FWD cars and wanted to drive a proper racing car.

Said in Autosport the negotiations with Laurent Aiello had ended, presumably he'll remain with Opel in the DTM

So it's Menu, ?Larini?, who else for Chevy ?

Paul Radisich? Since '99 he's racing in Australian V8 Supercars. This year he's racing for Betta Electrical which is runned by Triple Eight. According this article he's moving back to England.

Civic wasn´t competitive this year and because of this surely Civics are for sale. Anyway GR Asia can buy other car, JAS Accord for example?

Hello everybody, I am new to 10/10 and was reading your forum with a special interest. For what it is worth, I know Chevy has only one contract signed and it is with Menu. The others could be among Morbidelli,Larini,Radisich and Aiello. Tarquini will stay with Alfa with Farfus and Thompson.

Source : Alfa Romeo insiders. The situation in Alfa is as follows : they have 4 contracted drivers in a cost-cutting environment. Giovanardi will not be kept.
The only drives available except for Chevy are Brilliance ( run by Vic Lee) and Ford.
