Great to see GT back in a GT . He really enjoyed his first outing in the Aston and was pretty fast so it'll be interesting to see how he goes around Highlands. |

Don't suppose there's any chance the Highlands 101 event will be available to watch via a livestream somewhere?

There doesn't seem to be any live here in NZ. Last year highlights of these races were shown a couple of weeks later on SBS Speedweek show. Hopefully the same again this year, unless ch 7 have grabbed hold of it.

Great track in a stunning location
Sadly it looks as though the Camaro is a fair way off the pace, I wonder if this is in relation to the inherent flaws that reiter admitted recently re low downforce. Tander really flies in that aston, would be great to see how he would compare against someone like SVG at Bathurst in another high downforce car. |

Congratulations to our 2014 Australian GT Champion Richard Muscat. Erebus's first national title also apparently.

A couple of different mechanical issues over the weekend for the Quinn "Macca" would be a concern leading up to the B12hr ?

Just like Bathurst. Shame for Erebus but great to see the Aston doing well. GT broke the lap record yesterday and then re broke it again today . Good stuff!
I was questioning the McLarens reliability before the B12 and then it had no problems during that 12hr race so I don't know what to expect tbh. |

Well I've had a great time over in NZ, spent the week beforehand enjoying some great driving roads, about 1600km all up - had a ball. Then to Highlands for Sat and Sun. More than just a circuit, the museum has some interesting cars in it, and there are other displays catering to families with younger kids.
Both the newbies Camaro and the Bentley sound brutal, though off the leading pace. None the less, a couple of great additions to the series, and hopefully we will see the rumoured Aussie Camaro surface next year. The circuit was better than I thought it would be from a spectating perspective. The event wasn't cheap, it was definitely V8SC price territory, still, I stumped up for a corporate ticket for Sat, mainly for the "premium" viewing and museum access; Sunday was sold out of them when I bought my tickets. Wouldn't go corporate again - on Sunday I made my way around the circuit by foot and bus and found some better photographic vantage points. The circuit layout means that from most viewing points you can see multiple sections, mainly thanks to the crossover. The 2 viewing points in the forest weren't much chop for photos thanks to safety fence - there were only 2 small spots of value, and besides, unlike out on the main track, you only get limited viewing. Would I go back? Yes, when it's time for another NZ holiday. In the meantime, bring on the B12! A few pics below for you, more to be uploaded to http://s153.photobucket.com/user/red...?sort=3&page=1 Myself and all the other plebs were allowed a grid walk before the 101 on Sunday. I do like the livery on Fitzy's new Audi - one of the best out there. Last edited by RedZedMikey; 9 Nov 2014 at 13:54. |

2014 Australian GT Championship
That's great to hear. So both Quinn's are in a McLaren this year and one for someone else unannounced. So no Aston for Tony? I'll run it if someone pays for tires and fuel
Btw someone should start a 2015 thread. I'd be happy to, unless someone else wants to do it. |
