He means the old GT1, from the BPR days. In which yes, the initial McLaren F1 GTRs were not very heavily modified from their street counterparts, but the latter versions ('97 Long Tail) were more extensively custom.

Surely you mean race version of the Enzo? The McLaren F1's that ran at Le Mans in 1995 weren't too heavily modified, carbon brakes, strengthened suspension, etc. See the video "In Pursuit of Perfection" for the documentary.

Yes the Enzo not the F40

1995 is too long ago to be considered. Look at cars of past 3-4 years and for what the new rules will be for 2010 to 2015 or there abouts.

Now the FIA Homologations and the proposed or so to be new Homlogation rules for cars has minimum numbers or road cars that must be produced.
