Britcar is a good series aimed at gentleman drivers, some of the cars are pretty good in the GT3 class however and the Silverstone 24 hours is slowly growing in prestige and quality. IMO. So far Britcar has showed a lot of potential but hasnt quite capatlised on it I think, a couple of years ago it was almost as popular as British GT but over the last couple of years the British GT Championship has seen a resurgance in terms of grid sizes and quality.

Still all the same it is a good series for aspiring GT teams and drivers or just for gentleman racers.

Please define 'road going cars'? After all, an Aston DB9 is much the same as a DBR9, or a DBRS9, isn't it?

Think carefully before replying...

I's like it better if Britcar managed to to sit into some sort of FIA or ACO class structure, but banning NEW cars, only allowing 1 year old or worse. That way, you get a defined route into playing with the Big Boys, no?

a) a DBR9, and to an extent DBRS9, is nothing like road going. A DBR9 is 100% racecar in all but name.

b) there isn't a car younger than 1 year old in LMS GT1 or FIA GT1, so that won't work either I'm afraid. But maybe allowing cars that have gone beyond their homologation (recent example, C5R) would be nice.
